Jesus also said "Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword." Matthew 26:52 I personally believe in self defense but we are to love our neighbor first and foremost. I carry a gun as a last resort but will not hesitate to use it if an innocent life is in danger. Jesus was no wuss but his anger was directed at the self righteous religious leaders and not at the poor and powerless. I like your point about 99.9% of the churches not liking the real Jesus. I believe that if Jesus taught what the churches today (including the so called Evangelical churches) teach today they would never have crucified him, they would have made him High Priest.

You can also go back to the Old Testament. Exodus 22. God has just given the 10 Commandments to Abraham, but the next few chapters clarify what is and what is not legal.

Exodus 22:2-3: 2 “If the thief is caught while breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there will be no bloodguiltiness on his account. 3 But if the sun has risen on him, there will be bloodguiltiness on his account. He shall surely make restitution; if he owns nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. (NASB)

The way that I am understanding this if I defend my home and kill the intruder, I am innocent if I report it right away. If I go back to bed and leave it till morning to report it, then I am guilty.

If you continue to read Exodus, then you can see there are other scenarios where accidental deaths happen and the person who is alive is innocent.

Serious thoughts there, so allow me:

Jesus would carry a very, very small and concealable heavenly weapon that would, when fired, offer to the never to be missed target a lightening bolt 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 x 10 to the 67th trillion more powerful than all the lightening bolts produced on this planet over the past million years combined and then multiplied times a trillion. Then, he'd pack that in a round that when fired unleashes the afore mentioned power combined with the equivalent of all the nuclear and non nuclear explosions over human history times a quadrillion. All of that combined would be one "pellet" from his heavenly shotgun round fired from his concealable shotgun. Of course, he'd open carry as nobody is going to argue the any of the above points.

We now return you to the serious discussion already in progress...

I have no doubt Jesus would be armed if here today. As you said, he wasn't a John Lennon "peacenick":

Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. (Luke 12:51-53)

A reminder: In Revelation, Jesus returns as a warrior leading his holy army. I think they will be armed.

The only "weapon" mention is figurative that is the Word of the Lord. No other weapon is needed at that point. The description of what is happening is very militaristic.
