Florida Open Carry Event - August 7th 2010 - Dayton Beach Area

Join Florida Open Carry for another Open Carry Fishing Event in the Daytona area.

Saturday, August 7th starting at 10am,
Dunlawton Causeway Park, Port Orange, Florida, on the Halifax River.

We will be at the main pier under the bridge.

You will need your saltwater fishing license (shoreline license available free) to fish and you have to be fishing (or going directly to and from) to OC.

We have coordinated with the Port Orange Police Department and City Attorney's Office to make sure the police are properly trained and we have a positive Open Carry event.

This is event is happening just after we meet with some of our state legislators. So a good turnout and creating a positive impression is important.

Just curious are non residents welcome? I see these events scheduled in a lot of states. I live in a state where you need a license to buy a firearm let alone carrying one in any fashion. I live in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey. I would like to participate in one. I have a Florida non res CCW so , I am legal. Maybe not this one because a little short notice and low on funds but, in the future I would like to go to one. I am alone here I am the only one with a CCW in my crowd. Plenty of friends but, none that carry. All my friends that own firearms are hunters only; most of them don't even own a handgun. I am the right wing, gun toting christain nutjob of the crowd. I guess every crowd needs one.

Come on down. No permit is required to open carry while fishing other than a fishing license.
