I appreciate your comments and your invitation for me to stay here.

Actually I joined this forum to learn more about guns and CC. I somehow accidently ended up in the politics section.

As I don't think it likely that anyone will change anyone's minds about politics and personalities, I will disappear from this section. My intention was not to "stir things up", but just to remind people that gun owners are not homogeneous.

Otherwise I think USA Carry is a great resource and I will continue to lurk, and when I've had enough CC experience hopefully contribute.

So, ok, I looked it up in Wikpedia, too. For sure, I am obstinate and hold some animosity (primarily toward those who would take my freedom) but I do not consider myself intolerant or irrational. So, by defintiion, not a bigot. Vigilant, outspoken? Absolutely. For the record, I hold three academic degrees (bachelors, masters, doctorate), so don't assume I'm some backwoods illiterate. That's a stereotype too often put forth by the supposed "elites" in our society to stifle conservative thought. Don't make that mistake.

Basically, I consider myself an American patriot. I believe in the Constitution as written and in the ideals of this country as set forth by the Founders. I wish everyone (black, white, orange with purple stripes) to have the opportunity, unencumbered by "gov't" to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. IMHO, government thru the years (Repubs, Dems alike) has served to steadily erode this opportunity and our freedoms. That's easily documented; just look at the growth of legislation at all levels.

Today, with the Obama administration, I think we are at a critical stage. Yes, I think the guy is a socialist: his legislative record, his associates, his policy proposals indicate this, to me. Does he resemble Castro, Chavez, etc? Not completely, but only because of the constraints imposed, so far, by our political system. But, those constraints, as enumerated by the Constitution, must be vigilantly safeguarded. And THAT is what I'm concerned about.

If he’s (Mr. Obama) allowed to make changes and create laws that allow further changes then the damage will be done as it has been done in the past by others. The country slips further and further away from the basic fundamental principals our founding fathers intended, True Freedom… We as a society grow and evolve, but we have begun to allow what our founding fathers were trying to protect us and themselves from, the creation of “Big Government” . That will in time (if left unchecked) take more and more of the freedom we love and adore and will fight to protect. So when we ask a simple question: Is Obama Guilty of Treason? I am by no means a tin-hat-wearing conspiracy theorist, but I did look into the birth certificate issue out of sheer curiosity. From what I understand, Barack Obama has never provided explicit proof of his "natural-born citizenship." John McCain's citizenship, on the other hand, has been the subject of numerous reviews because of his birth in the Panama Canal Zone. I think that if Obama has nothing to hide, he should allow an investigation like this to happen. The tactics that are currently being used by his administration (to stop these hearings from happening to begin with) don't smell kosher to me. No citizen is above the law, especially not one that has been elected to public office. Besides, the fact that the definition of "natural born citizen" has never been raised before the Supreme Court should make it apparent that we need a ruling on it, whichever way it goes.

On an unrelated note, if I were given the one-time power to appoint any man or woman President of the United States, a black man would be at the top of my list. Neither because of nor in spite of his ethnicity.

We all would like to know... Mr. Obama chose the very public life in a very public office in service of this country. Did he expect we all would love and embrace him and his ideas? Did he assume that we would not question what we believe to be questionable about him? Kinda how it goes there in the White House.. He better get used to it for the next 3 years. I hope no longer...

"liberal" gun owners? I find this to be paradoxical. Prove it. You can use the House of Reps and the Senate and name the left-wing who ardently support the 2A, as written in the Constitution.

I'll grant you "anti-government" (I'm "anti" to any "gov't" which does not adhere to Constitutional principles) and "anti-Obama" (I think he is unfit on a multitude of levels to be president and CINC). But I do not accept "anti-black bigotry". I challenge you to find any evidence on this website to back up this statement.

Obama certainly does have enough on his plate and he frickin' put it there.

While the question of eligibility of Barack Obama & John McCain were raised at the same time...

Congressional Hearings Were Held To Determine The Eligibility Of John McCain...

On camera he gave them everything they asked for and stated "If you want anything else, just ask"...

To-date: Senate Majority Leader Dirty Harry Reid (D-NV) and Speaker of the House Crazy Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) have stated no such hearings will be brought to the floor as long as I am in power...

And the F.E.C. continues to report that Obama has been using his campaign contributions to pay attorneys to keep this from making the news and from any evidence even being allowed to be entered on the record in any court...
