And all the sheep said: Baaahhh...and kept on grazing. Keep your powder dry, boys. Oops...gotta go register, now, I guess.

As I said, it is also just not right. But labor unions weren't all that's excluded: "religious, fraternal or patriotic organization, society or association, or their members, whose objectives and aims do not contemplate the overthrow of the government of the United States, of this State or of any political subdivision thereof by force or violence or other unlawful means." It still doesn't make it right.
What a great idea. Let's make it a law that all terrorists must register with the local authorities too. That will stop all terrorism. Brilliant!
Guys ...... I know my comment is off topic
The USA is no longer the USA, a little over a year ago out here in Washington Boeing went on strike (longest one since the 1940's) and our Governor told the workers to get back to work or else .... Arrogant ***** !
Since when does the Gov-ment have that power.
The last statement is not precisely true. The states delegated to the Federal government dominion over themselves in some respects - like interstate commerce. It's kind of circular but the states set up the Fed and gave to the Fed some control over the states. The constitution also says that the Fed must guarantee that each state have a republican form of governement. So no state could decide to be a dictatorship or go socialist. The founding fathers were great about dividing power and pitting one branch or level of government against another. This is the only thing that has kept us as free as we are.
