Yeah, I get alerts fm NYT and agree that it was an unusual piece for them, being such a liberal rag. Might be a new trend in bumping up subscriptions since the general consensus is a fading presidency.
NYT's declining readership may have been cause to actually write an objective story on guns. No?
I still say the best use for a liberal rag like the NYT or Boston Globe, is for wrapping dead fish in.

The government did the same thing with drugs back in the day. They couldn't make pot, or heroin etc, illegal, so they said you had to have a tax stamp to posses. They never issued tax stamps, and said you had to show them the drug to get one, when they promptly arrested you for not having a tax stamp. I can see something like this coming down the pipe.
