Post 2nd Amendment Issues to the New Forum

I want to try and separate these out now. It seems that most complaints I get are about the politics forum. Everyone has their own view and I don't want to step in and say what can and can't be discussed on the site to a certain extent. So I've created a new forum for 2nd Amendment Issues Only and we'll leave all the other politics in the Politics forum.

"When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tryanny." I'm sure that this quote by Jefferson would today be considered dangerous. Unfortunately today most people are terrified of their government; and it has been this way for a long time. Jefferson and all of the founders believed that the purpose of the second amendment was to allow the people to protect themselves from a from an out of control government ,but only as a last resort. The left must destroy the second amendment in order to reach their goals. In fact other than the right to abortion (which I can't seem to find) they have made substantial progress towards the destruction of the entire "Bill of Rights". And unfortunately most of the people don't even know what their rights are. The only rights they are aware of are those that entitle them to a comfortable life with lots of material posessions paid for by others.
