Seeing as how his father was born in 1936 he really got an early start on being a hero. Reading over the Wikipedia article on him I don't see any mention of military duty so I suspect he just wanted to keep it quiet and let others take the glory.
His maternal grandfather was a WWII veteran and used the GI Bill after the war. This one I'll give him --- he misspoke.
Many other things he's said and done ... I'll hold him accountable for those!

You may well be right. There's plenty to be disgusted with him over without worrying about this, though.
I'm still glad you posted it, maybe somebody will go to the trouble to post all the incorrect statements - intentional and otherwise - from him and those in his administration. Statistical analysis could provide somebody a good Doctoral Thesis (yeah, like any American university would allow that...)

Obama commonly misspeaks or makes some inane comment whenever he seaks off the cuff and Mr. Teleprompter is not pulling his puppet strings. His handlers get really irritated when he says stuff they didn't tell him to say.

What get's me is that if ordinary citizen John Q. Public lie's on any Federalk document he can be fined and or imprisoned but if a polticians lies to the people it's normal
