At the request of President Obama's chief of staff, former President Bill Clinton asked Joe Sestak if he would drop out of Pennsylvania's Democratic Senate primary if given a prominent but unpaid advisory position within the administration.
That's what sources told the New York Times' Peter Baker on Friday morning, as the White House prepared to release its official response to Sestak's claim that a White House job was dangled before him as inducement to pull the plug on his primary challenge to incumbent Arlen Specter. The White House has since released its counsel's findings on the matter, confirming that Clinton spoke to Sestak.

Hopefully they will get to the full story. Don't forget that Clinton was impeached for lying under oath, remember Monica. I am surprised that they are admitting the request came from the chief of staff. That still places the issue in the White House, a major infraction of the law. Bribery is an impeachable offense. Unless we get a Washington Post type of investigative reporting, not likely this will go very far.

Looks like their excuse will be "everyone does it". I imagine every Democrat does it, because if a Conservative did it the media would hound them out of office pretty quickly.

As it is only Fox has been the big national outlet to cover this heavily for the last week, finally some of the liberal outlets are picking it up a bit. Obama's Justice Dept. has already refused to investigate, which shows how they thought it would just die a quick death.

I don't think they think much about what WE CITIZENS think. They don't care, and that is what is the scariest scenario possible. The government has become so currupt that they don't even give a damn weather or not they just bald face lie. It has almost got to the point where this country will fall with all of this curruption. We don't, or most of us Americans don't, really see how fragile our existence is. The majority that don't get this point will bring the whole damn thing down. That same majority is what put these wing dings in office this time around. It makes me puke!
