Couldn't agree more. In fact, in December '05 I wrote the following in a Letter to the Editor regarding the rape and murder of a woman and her daughter in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. (NJ is a de-facto non-issue State despite the wording of the NJ Constitution):
That New Jersey Legislators take away the wherewithal to act in our own defense by denying the people of this State the tools and freedom to exercise this Right and by making those who choose to do so into the 'criminal' is unconscionable, unconstitutional, and unacceptable. Those New Jersey politicians who participate in hamstringing the people of New Jersey by failing to recognize the natural Right of Self Defense are participants in the evils which ensue, and accessories to the fact. Such legislation is an affront to decent people all over the State and an abomination, and tells us all that the "right" of a criminal to run wild and slash and burn with abandon takes priority over the Right of the citizen to draw a line beyond which that activity may not cross. Certainly rape and murder fall into that category as well. Such laws are ludicrous . . . no, more than that, they're insane.
