Read the article and I can say I am not impressed with how far this administration is going to be able to find those that disagree with it. This is not a security measure but a privacy invasion. (NO I'M NOT JUST BEING PARANOID AND THIS AIN'T FUD)

I don't see the point. According to the article;
If it does not include the content of the emails, what are they fishing for? They want to know that you visited porn sites, or GASP, USA Carry? Are they going to compile the list of names you comminicate with and put all of your Fantasy Football buddies on a watch-list? Some poor bastard from e-Bay sells my wife a Gucci purse and he's suddenly a potential terrorist?The administration wants to add just four words -- "electronic communication transactional records" -- to a list of items that the law says the FBI may demand without a judge's approval. Government lawyers say this category of information includes the addresses to which an Internet user sends e-mail; the times and dates e-mail was sent and received; and possibly a user's browser history. It does not include, the lawyers hasten to point out, the "content" of e-mail or other Internet communication.
I really hope this does not go through - too much potential for abuse. Keep the judges as a check and balance. Hire more judges if need be.

Troubling, but no surprise. The infamous Patriot Act was created after 9/11 in the name of Homeland Security. Now, in the name of internet security, terrorism and intelligence investigation (and the government will use the latest Wikileak incident to support their argument), the Electronic Communications Privacy Act will be expanded to further erode our individual privacy and freedoms.

Festus I don't believe you're being paranoid at all when it concerns the current administration and control of the internet in some form. To change the law in that way is a definite privacy concern. Those who want can read the current law here:
