Judge sentences Tom DeLay to 3 years in prison

Senior Judge Pat Priest sentenced him to the three-year term on the conspiracy charge. He also sentenced him to five years in prison on the money laundering charge but allowed DeLay to accept 10 years of probation instead of more prison time.

He still might win on appeal. He will be out of jail while his appeal is pending.

Well, that made us all forget about Tom Delay, a former Majority Leader in Congress who regularly ponificated about his special status.

Oh, BTW, that congressman's wife PLED guilty and accepted responsibility for her deeds. Delay claimed he was innocent. A jury decided he wasn't.

Delay now blames "liberals" for his conviction. Those damn Texas liberals all got themselves on the jury just so they could convict Tom Delay.
