Opening Shot On ObamaCare Scheduled for Wednesday The U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to hold its first vote on repealing the anti-gun ObamaCare law this Wednesday.
Good for them!
As GOA has pointed out for more than a year, ObamaCare will allow the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to troll the federal health records database in an effort to disarm hundreds of thousands of law-abiding Americans.
Even after the forced adoption of language to take care of SOME of the anti-gun problems with the bill, ObamaCare still does not prevent the government from using health records to place people on the FBI gun prohibition list (the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS).
But, some would protest, ObamaCare does not explicitly mention firearms or background checks.
Well, neither did ObamaCare explicitly give Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius the ability to promulgate rules to regulate insurance premiums. But she did.
Neither did it give HHS the ability to implement the deleted "death panel" language. But they did, until public outrage forced them to retreat.
Neither does any statutory law authorize the BATFE to use the Mexico drug cartel violence problem to require U.S. gun dealers to report the names of persons making purchases of more than one rifle. But they have.
So the question is this: How much do you want to bet that Barack Obama, and his anti-gun appointees, will not use every tool at their disposal to go after the Second Amendment community?
Gun Owners of America has reviewed the two-paragraph repeal bill, sponsored by new Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and it is perfect.
Please urge your Congressman to support H.R. 2, officially entitled "A bill to repeal the job-killing health care law," and to speak in favor of its passage.
But, even more important, tell your Congressman that this is just the beginning!
Already, the far left is engaging in the sleazy tactics that got this "Obamination" passed in the first place.
"Repeal would increase the debt," they say. BUT, if you eliminate the Bernie Madoff-style accounting, repeal would actually cut $700 billion from the national debt.
"It's just for show, it will be vetoed by Obama anyway," they say. BUT, many times congressmen have gone against their own party's president to override a veto -- when the American people demand it.
All friends of liberty must oppose ObamaCare with the same zeal and determination that Obama/Pelosi/Reid used to pass it.
Gun Owners of America will be tracking this vote and it will be used for the 2012 GOA Congressional Rating.

Good Luck Obama I live in Utah its a state where you can assemble your own weapons. Without a FFL/ I have one for C&R so I can have some of my parts shipped for M1911's, like frames. But register no way. I also make my own ammo same deal no License required. If they start registering firearms the only ones that will have them are the thugs, they don't live by law anyway. Now how much sense doe's that make? When are these politicians gonna pull their collective heads out?

The government is not choosy about which parts of the Constitution they ignore. Where in the constitution does it say the government can dictate to people that they must have health care? We are awaiting a ruling on 0bamacare from a Florida Federal Court. If the court rules in Florida's AG's favor, it will also affect many other states. Many other states joined with Florida on trying to kill 0bamacare.
It still baffles me as to why you all are against healthcare for everyone. If you stopped and thought it through you would see that the reason your healthcare cost keep going up is to pay for the people that don't have healthcare and go to the emergency room to get care. So either way you are going to be paying for others health care. I find it better to pay for the cheaper preventive care then the emergency room care. And to stop those that want to call me a liberal or socialist why the hell do I have to pay taxes for your kids to go to school. I don't have any kids and so I should not have to pay for services that I will not be using. But I still pay for it due to it helps the nation as a whole to have educated kids that soon will be of voting age and might go on to do things that will be helpful for some. So while you all are so upset about this realize that most of us without kids feel the same way for having to pay for services for kids that none of us have.
The only thing I can see that you all have a right to be pissed about is the government forcing you to pay or be fined but the same can be said for us that don't have kids.

i did inform my represative and she did vote to repeal obama-care. as far as my health care records and anything else i guess there is no privacy any more unless you are very careful. big brother is watching. its kind of like the small town i live in where the police know everything about you or think they do. i hope that the senate goes along with repeal but thats the next fight. hopefully if we all work hard 2012 will bring real change that we can really live with.
Well my insurance just went up a hundred dollars a month-thanks obamacare! Now at almost seven hundred a month and all deductibles reset for the new year I guess I can't afford to get sick. What's the point of having insurance-if they really want to fix healthcare they should go after insurance companies,lawyers and drug companies. They're all getting rich off of the people that have insurance
I feel the same way on paying for schools. I shouldn't have to pay for them or their liberal revisionist theories of history. As far as 0bamacare goes, it will raise costs for everyone and result in rationing of services. It also is a step toward letting the camel's nose in the tent. Next thing you will be told is what to eat or drink. That is already being pushed into schools. Then you will be told what you can drive. Then where you can live. Somewhere along the way, guns will be banned and you will lose tha ability to resist.
