This was on the news this morning and is just indicative of how we are being subjugated to the UN more and more. Not too many years ago they wouldn't have had the nerve to try this.

Mount Rushmore: Iconic site is on list of 'sacred land' UN says must be returned to Native Americans

A UN human rights official is urging the U.S. to turn over control of lands considered to be sacred to Native Americans, including the site of the Mount Rushmore National Memorial.

James Anaya, the UN special rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples, unveiled his recommendations in Geneva on Friday after completing a 12-day visit to the U.S. where he met with representatives of indigenous peoples in six states.

The fact-finder also had a chance to meet members of the Obama administration and briefed the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, but no member of Congress agreed to meet with him.

'I have heard stories that make evident the profound hurt that indigenous peoples continue to feel because of the history of oppression they have faced,' Mr Anaya said in a statement.

For over a century, he said, the government had seized lands and resources from Native Americans, removed children from their families and communities, caused the loss of languages, broke treaties with tribes and oppressed the indigenous peoples on the grounds of racial discrimination. Read More

You forgot to mention that U.N. is a bunch of commie losers nobody (except our current president and the Secretary of State) takes seriously!!..They're known for sticking their big noses into somebody's business and up their behinds...They need to be smacked time to time to get some feel of reality...They're parasites living of our money, nobody else give them anything anymore..And for a payback. they just stick their big noses into our own business!!..Screw those bastards!!..If necessary, I'll come to protect Mt. The UN is an impotent joke of an organization. I just can't believe we continue to shovel all the money we do to it while allowing them to bring enemies of the state onto our own soil to spew whatever dribble they want. We should kick them out and, keep the money and turn the building into a homeless shelter, would at least bring a better kind of people to the neighborhood. As far as the Mt Rushmore story, if it's true let them pass a resolution.

the trail of tears is still flowing here in the states with the descendants of the survivors of the western land grab......even at present in the amazonian regions of south america where big corporations are raping the indigenous lands forcing them to the cities and mass genocidal tactics being used on them to this day...... the indigenous of mexico also being forced to pay government to live on lands they for hundreds of thousands of years lived freely upon........shame shamanic societies and cultures are being deliberately destroyed still to this day and there not many left ;(

if the white man learned indian ways we'd all be drinking fresh water breathing clean air eating healthy food and living a pretty leisurely life compared to the hustle and bustle of modern slave labor societies.......

There is no such thing as a Native American . America was barren of humans and what we called Indians came here and claimed the land as their own (squatters).My ancestors and others came here in ships such as the Mayflower and were welcomed by what they mistakenly thought were the Natives after a while we grew hostile toward one another and we won the war and took over.End of story.To hell with the U N .

We may be onto something here. Maybe we could get the UN to demand that Mexico give their country back to the Aztecs, and let them reinstitute human sacrifice too.
