SCOTUS upholds Obamacare!

I don't understand the facts as stated by Roberts in the majority opinion or how he can continue to claim to believe in the United States Constitution when he leads the SCOTUS into what equates to establishing a new tax. Hate to sound like I'm missing my foil hat, but what does who have on him?

I'm afraid this is just the continuation of a very dark slippery slope that has now gained so much speed that it is out of control, laws are being changed and ignored by the Executive and Judicial branches and the Congress has been made irrelevant. So much for balance of power.

People need to read their history and realize that the road we are going down has been tried before and it has not been positive. The erosion of rights and liberties will be fast and by the they turn around we will be too far gone without a United States to come free us like we have done for others in the past.

Roberts said that the role of the USSC is to ensure that the Constitution is followed by the Congress.

Then he said the Constitution gives Congress the right to tax.

Then he said Obama-care is a tax.

So he concluded that Obama-care is constitutional.

He was the swing vote this time.

Makes perfect sense.

Congress could have saved everyone a lot of grief if they had just called this a tax to begin with.

It's no different than the social security tax or the medicare tax.

Obama-care is the third of these three. Nothing really new, other than one giant leap for the USA.

Rather amazing that a GW Bush nominated USSC justice, ratified by a RNC Senate, made such a social-minded decision. Must have been a hard trial for Roberts, knowing Orrin Hatch, Michelle Bachman, and GW Bush would hate him for this.

Obama has argued forcefully that the fee for not buying the health care is NOT a tax, but a penalty. But, in March of this year, the Government lawyers argued before the Supreme Court that it IS a TAX, and the Constitution gives the Government the authority to levy taxes. That is what sold the Supreme Court.

That's what the US Supreme Court was debating. 4 of them agreed with you.

5 of them including Roberts said it was a tax, and that 2.5% of income is the amount of the tax, for everyone not already covered.
