    Default Independence Day

A quote from a soldier of the Revolution. Benjamin Warner settled near Ticonderoga , NY after the war, and as he came near to the end, he willed his knapsack to his son with these instructions...."that so long as one thread of it remains, never surrender your liberties to an aspiring demagogue or foreign invader." There is nothing I can add to that except Thank You to all that have fought to keep this nation free and independent.Let's not lose it now.

I just realized that I never mentioned that Warner's pack is on display at the Fort Ticonderoga museum. It is an outstanding site for French and Indian war and Revolutionary war history.

Just one little step at a time. You cut throw a frog into boiling water, it will just jump out. But if you put in cool water and bring up the temp it will boil to death without a "whimper". Well there are those of us that know the temp is rising, but no one will listen.

God bless the Americans who died for us. Godspeed to those still deployed.

The Declaration of Independence ends with this sentence: " With firm reliance on the protection of devine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor". Over half of the signers lost all of their possessions and several lost their lives. They were hunted as traitors. And the maximum penalty for treason under British law was still being hung drawn and quartered. How many of us would have signed this document?

It infuriates me to hear my fellow citizens and the political hacks in Washington so willing to give up the liberty that our ancestors fought and died for. We have become a nation of sheep willing to trade our liberty for material goods and security.

If we don't soon RE-Declare our Independence I fear this Tsunami of Socialism will completely cover this great Nation. It's a shame we're doomed to repeat our past.

Rah rah let’s all rally round the flag boys and remember a time when men had the balls to stand up for what they believed in. We celebrate our independence from England on July 4th. How can we emancipate ourselves from a government that we created? Collapse it and start over? How? Vote? Look how that’s been going for the last 50-100 years. Violent revolt against ourselves? Anyone got an answer? God? We threw Him out of the equation a long time ago. He’s turned us over to the Assyrians just as he did when Israel turned their back on Him. No answers? Well we can always remember a time when men had the balls to stand up for what they believed not what they received. Be careful with the fireworks. It’s been dry.

Monkeyhunter may have meant his post to be sarcastic; but it is unfortunately correct. Our constitution and form of government have not changed. It is we who have changed. And our politicians, the whores that they are, only give us what we want. We are greedy, self centered, and ignorant. Thanks to our schools, we know nothing of our government, history or economic system. If this Republic fails we have only ourselves to blame.

I refuse to give up on this country. In truth we will be rebelling against ourselves and the less admirable qualities of our natures. I want to believe that there is a core of real Americans who know what they are about to lose and truly wish to save it. I can only hope that I and many who contribute to this forum want to save this country. There has never been total agreement about anything among Americans even at the beginning of this country. Hopefully, there is a core of citizens and true believers who will do whatever becomes necessary to save the Republic. We need to convince everyone we know to get out and vote against those who have betrayed us. We also need to dedicate ourselves to the preservation of this Republic and our way of life no matter what the cost may be. I believe this country to be worth any price required.
