perhaps the violators were resisting arrest or obstructing the cops from doing their duty???

You don't even need to make such major speculative assumptions, in this case. The mere numbers alone, that they all had to move into a bigger "facility" in the back yard, is enough to stipulate there would have been traffic and crowding problems.

It's true that he was imprisoned and fined for violating zoning laws, not for holding a bible study per se. Still, 12 cops raiding him? Churches may think they are outside the law, which they are not, but the law needs to be reasonably enforced.
And jail time for zoning violators is a load of bs.

A church is nothing different from any other non-profit business, when it comes to municipal classifications and codes.

The law is the law, and it applies to everybody.

Religious freedom is becoming extinct with our rush to socialism. Matthew 5: 11-12, "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. I live in an agricultural zone. I can't run a company, other than a farm, from my home. If I ignore this and do it anyway I can be subject to the same thing. My friend recently said "we don't own our homes. We can't do anything without a permit. We get a visit from the tax assessor when improvements are done. If we violate zoning we get fined." Hmmmm.

it wasn't about what he was doing in his house it was about the parking problem all his guest caused in the area
had nothing whatsoever to do with him being christian and besides religious freedom was lost by countless as christian crusaders inquisitors and witch hunts began around the globe.......christians love to cry about their religion being persecuted yet throughout christian history christiains been taking the rights of non christians and their rights to practice non christian faiths

Remember, your beef with Christians should be with men that distort Christ's teachings, not with Christ himself.

This is an overreach by the Phoenix planning and zoning dept.. They are deciding what constitutes a church. Many years ago we worked with troubled youth and regularly had 20+ youth at our home. We were in a residential area and could have run into the same interference as stated in this article. As a libertarian you should be as disgusted as I am.

and stop believing everyting you read or hear on tv .......wake up you're being lied to manipulated ......again i tell you it wasn't because the guy was doing bible study in his home that caused his arrest
i have no beef with christ it's his followers for the most part i find a bit nutty at times though

if my neighbors had 20 cars parked all up on our street every sunday or whatever it would cause a bit of problems for the other homeowners here.....i can see once in a while a party or something but on a regular basis they should just rent a church or place where parking won't cause the neighbors problems parking and driving on their own easements

when alot of cars are blocking up homeowners spots and streets it's not keeping peace between neighbors.....they can go to a park or find a place with plenty of parking if they going to do their study on a regular basis....us neighbors can tolerate it once in a while but not on a regular basis ...even when they have parades and large functions in the city every so often folks still put signs out telling parade goers not to park in front of their homes and rightfully so if they choose not to have folks on their grass or easements making it hard for them to get in and out of their own parking spaces ......again folks this wasn't about what they were doing in the house it was what was going on outside the house.....parking problems and zoning violations....

i could care less what christians do so long they not infringing on others rights or trying to force their beliefs down my throat or forcing me or others to do stuff we don't want to do
