had nothing whatsoever to do with him being christian and besides religious freedom was lost by countless as christian crusaders inquisitors and witch hunts began around the globe.......christians love to cry about their religion being persecuted yet throughout christian history christiains been taking the rights of non christians and their rights to practice non christian faiths

It's true that he was imprisoned and fined for violating zoning laws, not for holding a bible study per se. Still, 12 cops raiding him? Churches may think they are outside the law, which they are not, but the law needs to be reasonably enforced.
And jail time for zoning violators is a load of bs.
we don't know other than what the media spewed on the story
perhaps the violators were resisting arrest or obstructing the cops from doing their duty???

This is a really tough call, on the face of it, because once the numbers start to get really big, then you have all sorts of hazards, like traffic hazards, parking problems, fire danger, and so forth.
It sounds more like a running feud with the city as well, which has been going on for a long time.
I would say this one went beyond a mere bible study for a few people and became a de facto church group, then subject to city zoning ordinances.
I am sure the other neighbors were not happy with the crowds and traffic either. That's precisely why zoning was established, so someone can't start a factory or business next door to you.
No problem for me with what Phoenix has done.
