Default The argument sounds the same

I watched this interview between Robert Gibbs and CNN's Candy Crowley about the Harry Reid comments and statement from the Senate floor about Romney's "tax evasion" over the last 10 years.

As you take the time to watch this link, substitue "tax records" with "birth certificate" or "education records" and think Obama instead of Romney.

The argument is all too familiar. But this time it comes from the left. And now the right are the ones coming to the defense. Politics as usual but the shoe is on the oter foot this time.

The insistance for Romney's tax returns is a fishing expedition by the Democrats. They are desparate and are trying every dirty tactic in the book to discredit Romney, to include a baseless accusation by Harry Reid. The shame of it all is that Reid can't be prosecucted for his fabricated assertion from the Senate floor. This is all indicative of the corruption of the Democratic Party and the Chicago style game playing. Win at all costs, to hell with the truth. If Obama wins again, all of this will seem mild in comparison to what will follow.

And four years of Donald Trump and Joe Arpaio fishing and innuendo are just swell? Fascinating!

If Joe and 'the Don' were spreading false "innuendo", to the point of libel, like Harry Reid did from the Senate floor, both would be open for a law suit.

Unlike Harry Reid or any other senator or congressman, who is protected from prosecution by laws that they themselves (or their predecessors) created so they can say what they want and not be held liable for, a private citizen making statements that can be proven false can be sued. No suites have been filed against either for what they said.

The purpose of the OP was the argument the left is using against Romney not releasing his recorde is identical to the argument the right used against Obama for not releasing his records. So I pose your question to you..... Romney sidestepping the issue of his taxes is bad but Obama sidestepping the issue of his eligibility to hold the office of POTUS is okay?

Neither party is less corrupt or morally bankrupt than the other.

Dark: Trump's accusations do not sway me at all. Arpaio's, however, have substance but have been completely ignored. It has been verified that Obama's birth certificate was a fake, etc., etc. but no one has the cajones to do anything about it. If Obama is so damn clean, why hasn't he released all of his college records? What about his scholarships as a foreign student? The lists go on and on but people stand behind him because he is black, not because he is a good president. The man is destroying this country and people do not look at our loss of jobs, loss of productivity here at home, closing of businesses, our cities going bankrupt and problems with illegal aliens. The principle concern is whether we are going to continue to get our freebies or not. It is not because of Obama's color , it is because of greed and ignorance on the part of the electorate who put him in office in the first place. Whoever greases their palms is the man of the hour. Retirees (of which I am one) are afraid Obama is going to cut their Social Security and Medicare and Obama is playing to the crowd to scare them. I am not as afraid of cuts as I am that this irresponsible president will cause the collapse of the whole system. My wife and I have been fortunate and God has provided for us in our old age. Cuts would hurt but not devestate us and I am not voting for someone who only promises to completely ruin our country and turn to Socialism. Dark, I know your ethnicity and, believe me, it makes absolutely no difference for me and I look upon you as I would any other citizen. But to vote for Obama solely because of that ethnicity is totally beyond reason. If you could enumerate the good things he has done for this country I might just reconsider my opinion. I think for any good thing you might come up with, I may have several in rebuttal. The problems facing this country transcend any racial leanings and can not be overcome unless we look at what is best for the country as a whole, not just a particular party. The truth about Obama is out there in public view and has all been corroborated. My question now is why our illustrious congress has not booted him out of office and prosecuted him? It isn't because they haven't the evidence. It is more than that.

"Have you ever seen anybody go through such great lengths to not put something out"...... Hmm let me think..... Yes!
"And when you generally don't put something out isn't it because you are generally hiding something".....

You took the words right out of my mouth.

Instances of a Republican getting on international TV and slandering someone with a total and complete fabricated lie, and does it because he is completely exempt from prosecution, please. Just one. Just one half of one.
