did you get your stimulus check. or what about social security or medicare. You are taking a good approach and i commend you for your hard work and willingness to take care of yourself and loved ones. I think that is great. If the whole world took your approach we wouldnt be in the mess we are in. But their is no way to avoid receiving from the government. Its just like my mother. She works at a government job. She works for the Farmers Service agency. They have government programs that give checks to all these farmers that have had losses due to the weather like drought and things like that. A good thing in my opinion. It helps them out If their crops or animals didn't have a good year. But the thing is all these democrat hating right wing straight ticket republicans are the first ones in their to get their checks and will go right out in every local, state, and national elections and vote against theirselves.

I cashed mine to get a little of the money my socialist government stole from me at the point of a gun so to speak so they could redistribute it to the bottom feeders that will not work but live off the backs of others that do. when "king of the socialists" Obama takes the throne it will get even worse.

I got my money back that I had begrudgingly paid to the IRS earlier in the form of withholdings. If someone steals $1000 from you, and gives $100 back and calls it a stimulus check, is it a handout? No, it's just an incomplete return of what's yours to begin with. Anyone who thinks this is a great gift from Uncle Sam is delusional.

It's amazing how easily people will sell their dignity for the sake of trinkets. You could probably get more for it on eBay.

Lots of people in here probably remember Lyndon Johnson. If you don't, you should do some research. He fancied himself a regular Huey Long, a man of the people. He really played himself up as some sort of political Messiah (think Obama) who was going to save us all. He craved approval and no matter how big his electoral majority, wanted more because he really thought he was the cat's meow. He got a huge thrill out of people considering him to be their savior from poverty.

At the same time, he was sinking us deeper into Vietnam, and deceived the American public and every single member of the House and 98 Senators into falling for the Tonkin Resolution. He got us started on a pointless and costly escapade for no reason other than to satisfy his gigantic ego, while stringing us along with the carrot of an "end to poverty" and similar nonsense. Vietnam doesn't even have any oil! What were we fighting for, fish sauce and rice noodles?

Obama will probably be a repeat of Bush, and ultimately a huge disappointment for his party. He'll win the presidency. He'll get in, and he'll probably have a decent-sized majority in Congress. He will do a bunch of things that will have poor results, but will be whitewashed while at the same time getting us into a foreign policy mess overseas. Then we'll start all over again in eight more years.

What about the people who have worked hard to earn their millions???? We are just supposed to hand it out to people that don't make as much??? I don't know about anyone else but I paid a lot of money to go to school and earn an education that would get me a good paying job. The democrats think because of my hard work and initiative that I now earn too much money????? Complete and utter hogwash!!! That is communism or marxism. They have that form of government in China. You may like it there. Oh by the way, they don't allow citizens to have firearms either.
