On the economy, McCain defended his vote in favor of the government's $700 billion plan to prop up the lending industry, despite his insistence that as president he would cut spending.

"Extraordinary circumstances require extraordinary actions," he told CNN's Wolf Blitzer in Manchester, New Hampshire.

He said he will consider a second economic stimulus package if he is elected president. His running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, said the day before that "this is not a time to use the economic crisis as an excuse for reckless spending."

My question to USA carry is, when is mccain going to quit the socialism and be a conservative and when will he and his vice president get on the same page with their policy''s? Give me your thoughts. Thanks

JW, if your going to continue to bash McCain at least post the entire truth. Obama and Biden also voted in favor of the bail out. Post all the facts not just those in favor of your argument. This will lend more credence to what you say and not lend to the argument to you being here only to cause problems. I am not a strict party line or one issue voter but I do post using ALL available facts. I support all thoughts on politics, as long as it's based on rational thought and not on biased decisions.

Obviously ron you haven't been reading my other posts and comments in other threads. You are absolutley right on Obama and Biden voting for it. The argument is not whether they are socialist cause they are. The only point i want USa carry to acknowledge and admit is that the republican ticket is also socialist in their own way, instead of giving to the lower and middle class and poor Mccain/bush/palin will give it to their friends. Oil company's, billionares, etc. Maybe a 5000 tax credit for everybody like mccain proposes, or like palin give her whole state 1000or 1500 or whatever it was. they all vote for the 700 billion package and would all consider another stimulus package. WHy do you think that the last 8 years of going into the whole as far as the deficit is concerned will change with either candidate. It will only grow. I just get tired of everybody here bashing Obama when both candidates should be bashed.

I believe that he didn't mention Obama and Biden's votes for the bailout because it is already a well-known fact that they are already socialists and don't do much to try to hide it. The reason he's focusing on McCain is that he's masquerading as a conservative while voting in favor of more government intervention in the economy, which should be anathema to a legitimate conservative.

I mis-spoke. Rather than claiming an A rating for McCain, I should have only stated their endorsement. The NRA probably is doing the same as most of us: Backing the candidate with the closest voting record to our views AND a reasonable chance of winning.

exactly tatte. Thank you for helping me out their. I just want everyone to realize some things about mccain too instead of always on bomas back. The NRA is endorsing the right candidate based on their views and beliefs to. Obama don't score well with me on guns either but i am looking toward others issues that are more important.

WOlfhunter, just because mccain is a war hero and i agree he is doesn't automatically qualify him to be president. Obama is not a baby killer. He wants to do everything to reduce abortion. He says leave it up to the state and people that are actually in the situation. Like the mother, her family, thier religious leaders and faith. Being a conservative and pro america and all about small government why would any republican want a government banning or ruling to decide for me and you. Leave it up to the people and states. besides we have had 8 years of W and we still got abortions. So thats not even an issue

good post ron. I reviewed the gun and abortion issues. There were only one issue on the guns they didnt vote the same on and it was this oboma voted no and mcain voted yes.
