JW no one is jumping to conclusions here. We are giving our predictions just as you are when you say everything is going to be rosy fine. The difference is we are basing our statements on past voting records and other previous actions. If it doesn't happen it will be a very pleasant surprise. However, relaxing is not the thing to do now. Vigilance in matters that are important to any individual is the way we must go. Taking the "It can't happen here" attitude is how these things can slip through.

Judaism (Jewish people) is a religion. Israeli is a nationality. Chief of Staff and Secretary of State are two different jobs. Just looking at a person's "yes/no" record doesn't tell us much. What did the bills he voted "yes" on do? What did the bills he voted "no" on do? WHY did he vote the way he did? Rahm Emmanuel has a record for being one of the most partisan Democrats in Washington, and like Biden, he's an old-timer in the DC game, so don't expect any "change" to be good for Vets, Gun Owners, or Taxpayers.

JW, that, I think, is the point. There are MANY things that can get worse. For one, the take from the rich and GIVE to the poor ideas that are part of Obama's "wealth redistribution" mantra. Another is the Dem's idea of socialised healthcare. I've already said my $0.02 on that, but it still stands. Both of these agenda ideas can and most probably will make things MUCH worse for many more than they will help. And besides that, HE doesn't have to pass ANY laws. HE doesn't pass laws. HE only signs them when they come to him. And with a Democratic controlled Congress, it's highly likely these types of bills will be passed by Congress and sent to him to sign...which means they will become law. And even without his signature, should he veto something, the Dems could muster a 2/3 majority to pass it over his veto. So either way, things CAN get much worse.

Pulled this up on his voting record, IMHO that is the litmus test of who someone was, where they R now and what directions/repeated patterns of behavior/turn-ons & turn offs they portray and worth a look-see.

He voted YES on most National Security & Military Issues which IMHO is paramount, one more big terror hit and a new president has to respond or be seen as a weak leader which early in his tenure is a very bad aura to project and invites disaster ahead. But @ what co$t to an economy GWB sold the USA to China by the acre spending/borrowing more in 2 terms than all 42 CiC's who came B 4 him put together. Strong YES's on all but 1 Labor votes, with 1 puzzling 'NO', increase federal minimum wage to $7.25 by 2009. By 2009 that will be worth around $5/hr min-wage cap, not enough IMHO to bust butt doing hard work to even survive on. Housing and Property Issues mostly YES votes, pretty much same story with Health, but IMHO a Sec State is not doing his job if his main priorities are all domestic. Forget guns, he's Obama's man there. Foreign Aid and Policy Issues I see U.S. broke but this fella all for HR 2634: To provide for greater responsibility in lending and expanded cancellation of debts owed to the United States and the international financial institutions by low-income countries, and for other purposes. Hey if anyone owes US a debt it's time to call in that marker, forgive + forget my assets! He's a family man with YES's in the Family and Children Issues arena. Mostly YES on Environmental & Energy & Education Issues. On Drugs he's for banning the Department of Justice from arresting, prosecuting, or suing individuals involved with the distribution or use of medical marijuana in states that have laws authorizing such use. Good deal, now the sick/dying can toke up on homegrown and organized crime gets no kick-backs! Way heavy hitting YES on Defense votes, which is critical because the Sec of Def must never be @ odds with the guy who stops the war B 4 it starts and co$ts US a bundle. He's not a friend to criminals but he is sure going to make their ways a LOT easier if he disarms or helps to castrate the gun owners of America who could stop a lot of it, a call 911 kinda dude.
But hold up he doesn't mind you burning an Old Glory or 2 and voted against 2 HR's that passed which would have prohibited the physical desecration of the flag of the United States. Maybe burning Kenyan flags will escape the flames! A younger guy born in 1959 with a wife called Amy and 3 Children. JW, if you wait until they come to take our guns, then we have already lost. The "wait and see" attitude is what has hurt so many other causes. Look at, for instance, healthcare. The AMA decided back in the late 70's that managed care was just a fad and would NEVER take hold and that doctors would always be in charge of medicine. Now, right wrong, or indifferent, they took a wait and see attitude and did nothing. Now, business executives and bean counters are making healthcare decisions based on money, averages, and whats best for the bottom line instead of what's best for the patient. The wait and see attitude of the AMA is what caused this to happen. Had they (the AMA) stood up and fought even the beginnings of this, physicians would have more control over healthcare and maybe, just maybe we wouldn't be in such a bind as we are in now with it. The same can and WILL happen with gun control. If we wait and let the liberals make a move first, we have already lost. The ability to have public sentiment on your side is very powerful. The media is already biased against gun owners, and now both parts of congress AND the executive branch are too. The only bastian is the US Supreme Court -- which may change within the next four years too. If all three branches are against gun owners and 2A, what chance do you honestly think we have bro?
