This is another one of my off-the-wall ideas. I'd like to try this around the 2010 midterm elections just as an experiment. There was a similar thing done by a media organization a while back when they asked a number of candidates about a fake war in a nonexistent country, and they got all kinds of detailed answers that showed they were just BSing.
1. Make up an organization with a name like "Citizens Against Community Violence" or something along those lines.
2. Write up a questionnaire with items like, "What is your position on the use of double barreled semi-action clips in civilian firearms?" or "Do you think it is appropriate for civilians to own a rifle firing a round as large as 4 mm?"
3. Contact local (and national, if available) candidates over the phone and ask them those questions on the spot. You could also print the questions on professional-looking stationary and send it to them.
4. Publicly expose all of the nonsense answers and show their ignorance for what it is.

Sounds like a good idea to me.
Don't forget to include those nasty self-firing, autoload, 200mm Pistol, semi-lethal rounds! Can't have those on the street!

Ask them about THIS wonder gun.
How about should citizens be able to use silencers on revolvers.
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house;by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith Heb.11:7
All good ideas, gentlemen!
Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

If we could get a number of people involved in this, it may have some interesting results. Maybe we could get some liberal town committee to pass a resolution denouncing a gun that doesn't even exist.
"Police are calling the Glotch 60 the most dangerous handgun available - incredibly compact, but with a high-capacity magazine and a built-in silencer. It's also easily converted to be a hyperautomatic assault pistol. Simply an amazing feat of engineering."

So, in terms of really doing this...does anyone have a list of anti-gun politicians who will be up for reelection in 2010? Or just pick your own, and we can compile a list.
