I don't think they'll possibly pass that onerous HR-45. I doubt it will surface out of committee. The 2nd Amendment and RKBA isn't split along political lines. There are lots of southern dems who grew up shooting and strongly support gun rights, for example. The national registration would violate existing federal law, much like the medical database will violate HIPPA.

If it does pass? I'll obey the law - a different law. In my state, owners have to report the loss or theft of firearms within 72 hours of the loss or theft. The day after registration passes, all my guns will be packed in airtight long term storage containers, buried in the woods behind my house, and the cops will receive a report of a significant firearm theft.

They can't register me if all my guns are stolen. I'll suddenly find them after the Socialists are voted out or thrown out of office and the registration repealed.

Until then? Write your congress people. Often. Join the NRA. Participate in a local Teaparty. Hunt with blackpowder and bows. Did i say write your congress people?

It's really very simple. The oath of office says that they will protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. And the 2nd Amendment says, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

I stand by my Constitution. 'Nuff said! Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and all of the others can try to trash its words, but by their own actions, they are traitors to our country.

I've heard the bill Obama's gonna try to push thru congress in order to stop the flow of the "river of arms" to the drug lords of Mexico contains language requiring the REGISTRATION OF ALL WEAPONS IN THE U. S.
It keeps gettin' scarier and scarier. If they really cared about the dubious "flow" they'd seal the borders!

Every legitimate story on this subject refers to full automatic, even anti-aircraft weaponry, grenades and launchers, explosives. Last time i looked, Cabela's didn't carry any of those. Wonder where this river starts? Down in south and central america, where everything is for sale including their sisters, crime is rampant, and governments own all the guns. Sort of tells you where the illegal sales are taking place, no?

Besides which, smuggling any gun across the border is already illegal. What - you say they shuold just enforce the thousands of laws already on the books? Me too. But once again, it has nothing to do with the legal sales of firearms in America. So once again, the law abiding citizens are being made scapegoats and will pay the price for the alarmists and propagandists unsubstantiated claims that are the barely disguised efforts of the gun haters union.

Many of those guns that actually came from the US were LEGALLY sold into Mexico. There is a program called Foriegn Military Sales. The Defense and State departments represent each country and negotiate the sale just as if I were selling to my neighbor.

The real solution to the problem in Mexico is simple, they need to ADMIT they have a NORTHERN BORDER and we need to ENFORCE OUR SOUTHERN BORDER...

All can be done without a single new piece of legislation...

Congress already funded the building of a Duncan Hunter style fence across our entire southern border, but it has not been built... WHERES THE FRICKEN MONEY THEN...

Basically, its a double prison style fence, that you open one side, drive in, close the gate, open the other gate and drive through to the other side, as well as being able to drive down the middle... not the corrugated sheet metal one you always see on CNN (AKA: Corrupt or Clinton News Network) or NBC/MSNBC/CBS/ABC (AKA: The Obama News Networks)
