Default Australian Steering Wheel Locks can be Deadly

I know this is USA Carry and not b]OZ[/b] Carry, but this just goes to show why gun control is hazardous to the police as well.

Arrested for wheel lock &squo;gun&squo; | The Courier-Mail

One of the hidden costs of gun control is that is robs future generations of the opportunity to become proficient with firearms from a young age. Future police and soldiers are better police and better soldiers when they already have hard earned knowledge of firearms of all kinds. This allows more time for training to be devoted to being a policeman or soldier rather than being an operator of a firearm.

When the state has to train a prospective new policeman or soldier in firearms from the ground up, they always short-change the trainee. There's always some misunderstanding not repaired, some belief in a firearm urban legend not dispelled, and in the end, you get complete and utter mouth-breathing morons who think a steering wheel lock is a secret firearm with enough fervor to justify, in his own mind, threatening an innocent person with deadly force of his own.

This idiot needs to be fired from the force and given a roll of tickets to go see the James Bond marathon at the local classic movie theatre.
    Don't retreat. Just reload.

You'd have to be a complete flipping moron to not be able to tell the difference, in a low-pressure situation, between a very common style of steering wheel lock and a rifle.
