President Obama has mentioned that renewal of the so called "Assault Weapons Ban" would be difficult. If I remember correctly, Feinstein stated she would take up the fight at a time of her choosing.

If the anti-freedom crowd cannot legislate away our freedoms, how do you suppose they will proceed? There are tons of regulations and laws which if manipulated by the anti-freedom crowd can allow them to achieve their goals.

For example, could the classifications of firearms be changed in such a way that will cause every semi-auto rifle or shotgun would be newly classified as a machine gun? Would my son's Marlin Model 60 .22 rifle suddenly become a machine gun subject to registration and taxes? Would my Ruger 10/22? How about my Remington 1100?

Would they then be able to come to your home if you did not pay the tax or register it and put you in jail?

Make no mistake about it. The anti-freedom politicians and bureaucrats are not sitting idly by. It is my opinion that they are diligently working to find ways to make end runs on our God given freedoms. The 2nd amendment is not the only freedom in danger. Freedom of religion, speech and freedom against unreasonable search and seizure all are in danger. For example, NPR has just axed all Christian programming effective today. It matters not if you are or are not a Christian. Rest assured your freedoms are not safe. Many American men and women have shed their blood to purchase our freedoms. I guess the price of freedom is never "paid in full".

We must all do our part to make the freedom loving people of this country aware. Contact your senators and representative often and express your concerns. Surely there are some who are not mindless followers.

They are going to go several different ways. Sign on to a UN treaty selling out American Rights is one way. Start with a registration scheme that charges a small amount per each gun (to begin with) is another. Go after ammunition sales like Kalifornia is doing with a limit of 50 rounds per month is another.

I am glad (most of the time) that we have fellows like Festus and O'Shay, but I hope to heaven that they are wrong in this case (although they probably aren't).

I will say that I have already dispatched a letter to our sitting congresswoman (Rosa DeLauro) outlining my plans to volunteer much of my free time to any candidate who stands up to the socialist, gun grabbing direction that this administration is taking. Of course, she is one of the biggest supporters of the president, so I am sure that I will be working for her opponent.

The media will increase reports of gun violence, reporting on every gun crime. This will be done to get the public thinking "We must do something about this". Eventually an attempt at an expanded AWB will be made because of this public outcry. "Experts" will be called to show statistics of how the previous AWB decreased crime in more than just the U.S. and to do a study on other ways to make the country "safe". It won't matter that the statistics used or the reported causes have already been shown false. All that will matter is the agenda of the administration.
