The most likely course for gun control

1. Obama Signed the CIFTA Treaty (allowing the UN to impose it's will on the people of this great nation.)

2. Franken takes a seat in the Senate and they ratify the treaty using the power of the fillibuster proof majority.(see we did not vote any new anti gun legislation did we...we are not the ones coming for your guns...the UN is...)

3. The UN dispatches peace keepers to the USA in an attempt to enforce a peaceful confiscation of all "illegal" small arms, large knive and sharp pointy sticks.

4. All hell breaks loose when the "racist teabagging rednecks{" (Janeane Garofalo Quote) who cling to guns and religion wake up and smell the coffee.

As many Democrats are pro gun, the majority isn't so filibuster proof. The treaty also has language that specifically allows lawful ownership. UN peacekeepers is a giant leap from there. THIS scenario is HIGHLY unlikely.

However, the concept is valid. I believe they will try to outlaw guns and or ammo, probably one small piece at a time, so we must work dilligently and tirelessly to protect, preserve and restore our rights!!!

UN troops are much more likely to come in due to civil unrest, race riots, etc. We have to watch our behavior a lot more than the other side. (How many of you know Melanie M. Schrey? If the Tea Parties were anti-gun protests how would the headlines read?) We have to have the rational and reasoned responses. We have to be better than they are. We have to work towards the best, and prepare for the worst.

Tack the treaty ratification onto a piece of crisis legislation and it's a done deal. Bring in the peacekeepers to help with traffic and hoome to home searches katrina style and you are there.
