Suggestions for NR NV permit I too was relying on my Utah permit for a trip to Nevada in September or October. Now, I am looking for a quick way to obtain a NR Nevada permit.
Any suggestions?

Actually, this is not the case...
Most of the casinos in Las Vegas allow concealed carry... while the convoluted Nevada laws allow them to prohibit it by posting no guns allowed signs...
Although, the same goofy statue does not allow you to be arrested for violating said signs, and the Casino's only legal enforcement is to ask you to leave IF they see you are carrying...
IF you subsequently refuse they can have you arrested for misdemeanor trespassing...
In Nevada, you are basically limited by three factors...
And all the major casino's unofficially support concealed carry by law-abiding citizens...
- Cannot carry in a building with a metal detector at the entrance.
- Cannot carry in a building that has no weapons signs posted at all entrances. (Only enforceable violation is trespassing if you refuse to leave)
- Cannot carry on public school system property. (AKA: Gun Free Zones, AKA: Kill for free and leave our kids and their teachers defenseless).
One of the Nugget casinos's recently had a armed cage robbery by some crack head foiled by a CCW holder...
I have been to most of the casino's in Las Vegas and have yet to see a no weapon's sign posted, with the exception of the Tropicania during gun shows, they put up a temporary no weapons in casino sandwich board sign for insurance purposes...

The Nevada concealed firearms LAW has been in effect since October 1, 1995, and requires all applicants to be photographed, fingerprinted and investigated, even those who currently hold a permit. The LAW was amended October 1, 2001, which allow out-of-state residents to apply for a Nevada concealed firearms permit. Out-of-state residents may now apply for a Nevada concealed firearms permit from the Sheriff of any county in the State of Nevada. Nevada residents may only apply to the Sheriff of the county in which he/she resides...

This is incorrect and you left out information in your list.
You can legally carry in building with posted signs and metal detectors, unless the metal detectors/signs are at all the entrances to a "public buidling".
Under NV law a "public building" is defined as a government owned building.
You also can not carry at child care facilities.
Posted signs/metal detectors at the entrances to any privately owned building has not weight of law and you can legally carry in those buildings.
Nevada Revised Statute 202.3673
1. Except as otherwise provided in subsections 2 and 3, a permittee may carry a concealed firearm while he is on the premises of any public building.
2. A permittee shall not carry a concealed firearm while he is on the premises of a public building that is located on the property of a public airport.
3. A permittee shall not carry a concealed firearm while he is on the premises of:
(a) A public building that is located on the property of a public school or a child care facility or the property of the Nevada System of Higher Education, unless the permittee has obtained written permission to carry a concealed firearm while he is on the premises of the public building pursuant to subparagraph (3) of paragraph (a) of subsection 3 of NRS 202.265.
(b) A public building that has a metal detector at each public entrance or a sign posted at each public entrance indicating that no firearms are allowed in the building, unless the permittee is not prohibited from carrying a concealed firearm while he is on the premises of the public building pursuant to subsection 4.
4. The provisions of paragraph (b) of subsection 3 do not prohibit:
(a) A permittee who is a judge from carrying a concealed firearm in the courthouse or courtroom in which he presides or from authorizing a permittee to carry a concealed firearm while in the courtroom of the judge and while traveling to and from the courtroom of the judge.
(b) A permittee who is a prosecuting attorney of an agency or political subdivision of the United States or of this State from carrying a concealed firearm while he is on the premises of a public building.
(c) A permittee who is employed in the public building from carrying a concealed firearm while he is on the premises of the public building.
(d) A permittee from carrying a concealed firearm while he is on the premises of the public building if the permittee has received written permission from the person in control of the public building to carry a concealed firearm while the permittee is on the premises of the public building.
5. A person who violates subsection 2 or 3 is guilty of a misdemeanor.
6. As used in this section:
(a) “Child care facility” has the meaning ascribed to it in paragraph (a) of subsection 5 of NRS 202.265.
(b) “Public building” means any building or office space occupied by:
(1) Any component of the Nevada System of Higher Education and used for any purpose related to the System; or
(2) The Federal Government, the State of Nevada or any county, city, school district or other political subdivision of the State of Nevada and used for any public purpose.
If only part of the building is occupied by an entity described in this subsection, the term means only that portion of the building which is so occupied.

I am well aware of the law if you haven't been following my posting and my instructor credentials which I have posted in my signature line. However, there are casinos that post. Boyd/Coast Casino properties do along with The Statosphere Tower. I don't know why the Friends of the NRA has their banquets and benefit dinners at Sam's Town considering most entrances are are posted.
The Stratosphere Tower has (or had) metal detectors to get into the elevator to the top of the tower. I frequent Sam's Town and ignore the signage if I see it as that's all they can do is trespass me from the property. I have not seen any of the Harrah's properties post.
I haven't see any Laughlin property post. The casino entrance to Terrible's in Searchlight has a "NO WEAPONS" sign, but the entrance to McD's and the convenience store does not. The Joker's Wild near by American Shooters in Henderson posts (or did) last time I checked.
None of the Station Casinos post, but you deal with the gray area that many of them have an onsite child care facility, Kids' Qwest. There's a big gray area because of the verbage of NRS 202.265 on whether it applies to the portion of the establishment where the child care facility is located or just the portion of the establishment where Kids' Qwest is located. The exact verbage implies it's the entire parcel of land the child care facility is on so be cautious if you CCW in an establishment that has an on site childcare facility you may end up being a test case.

I'm not a lawyer, and I know I'm going a little bit off the topic, but I'd have to say that it reads pretty clear. "...while on the property of the Nevada System of Higher Education, a private or public school or child care facility."
However, one might be able to argue that the "property" is owned by the casino, or the "property of" the casino, not the child care facility.
