To my knowledge Palin never inserted her religious beliefs into politics other than to adhere to her moral convictions while serving the people of Alaska. She showed she believed that she was a servant of the people. Rejecting the idea that being governor is a position of privilege by eliminating needless luxuries and drain on the tax payers like the governors private plane which she sold. Opting to use commercial airlines like everyone else instead. She made corporations pay the tax payers of Alaska instead of making the tax payers pay for handouts to bail corporations out of their self induced mess. She sought out, exposed prosecuted and removed corrupt politicians from office, even members of her own party. Instead of using corrupt individuals as advisors and appointing them powerful positions in the government. Unlike the obamanation currently in office who seems to think he is the "ruler" of this nation.

Let's take this another direction. Maybe she is more interested in being a cheer leader rallying the base instead of being a leader. With shedding her elected office, she is no longer beholding to the people or groups that financed her election and can go on and speak to her convictions. God bless Sarah if this is what she has in mind.

What a strange comment you made.

How do you get that from Tea for One's comment? No one is saying there should be a national religion or that one was over another...he said God generically (can you say generic God in the same sentence?).

Your God, my God, his God doesn't have to be the same and doesn't have to be over another. Tea for One didn't imply that his was over anyone's.

I do think she is a genuine person (Palin) and will need to brush up on current affairs to have a base to formulate ideas from. But I think her core values will drive her to be a competent leader.

I seriously doubt that any of us shoved in front of a microphone and quizzed about world leaders, their policies and what the US should think about them, could formulate a coherent thought that made any sense without having studied up on them.

Thank you fataugie for your kind words. I am not trying to shove anything in anyone's face, but I find that it is an uncommonly rare quality in politics to find folks who can stand for what they beileve in in the face of differeing opinions and be comfortable enough with whom they are to take a stand on issues. The fact that she believes in Someone higher then herself is an important and significant thing, in that it shows humility, since God is superior to any one of us... as C.S. Lewis states in his chapter on Pride in Mere Christianity:

"In God you come up against something which is in every respect immeasurably superior to yourself. Unless you know God as that- and, therefore, know yourself as nothing in comparison- you do not know God at all. As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you."

I think Obama would do well to drop down on his knees, and yield himself and his life to God's lordship and sovereignty.

I, for one, do not want a Soccer mom for president. Hell, I don't want ME for president and I think I have some Outstanding ideas ().
There has to be someone brighter than Sarah that can be ethical AND support the conservative cause. The problem is, most of them are ALSO bright enough NOT to run for the office!!!

Upon what authority do you make any claim to judge her intellect? Do you not understand how differently the media wolves treated her in comparison with their beloved Messiah?

Well and appropriately said my friend. That's the beauty of it... she is not a Washington insider. She does not play games in the crooked circles of the Washington elite. In other words, no one in D.C. owns her, because she has not sold herself out to anyone, and it is partly upon that rare and blessed objectitivity that the hope of so many rests.

I don't know about you but the job description of Mom is among the the most difficult occupations in the aforementioned list... and try being a mom while running a State! Yep Sarah Palin is more than qualified and perhaps even more intelligent than some of the men who have run this country and certainly brighter than the fool running it now. Could Sarah Palin ever run on Barack Obama's resume to be President "HELL NO!" Could Barack Obama run on Sarah Palin's resume to become President- HELL YEAH! And yet we've elected a Community Organizer to the Office of the President of the United States. Barry has absolutely BRILLIANT CREDENTIALS that demonstrate his intellectual prowess . I think that what is wrong with our party is we have been dedicating more time to ripping at the credentials of our party candidates rather than just getting behind them and supporting them. Meanwhile the liberal dems are sliding through barely qualified socialist bums into Congressional, Senatorial, and now Presidential office.

A sizable portion of the the Presidents of our country have had the occupation of Lawyer prior to becoming President... hmmmm, I'd place trust in my mother well before I drop it on the White House doorstep of a lawyer.
