Going back to the topic of this thread, show me where the bill specifically authorizes these alleged "death panels." You won't be able to because there aren't any.

The facts which seem to elude you are that when Governor Palin’s sister filed for divorce is not even remotely relevant to your baseless, obtuse accusations… The facts are that the Trooper should have ended up in prison for his criminal actions… Further, Unlike the Usurper Obama; Governor Sarah Palin has been legally exonerated of any allegations brought against her to-date, on this matter or others… NUFF SAID…

The Government can't even run the Post Office and keep it in the black!

"In looking for a way to fund healthcare, Obama has set his eye on the oldest and sickest. You see, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, about 30% of Medicare spending -- nearly $100 billion annually -- goes to care for patients during their last year of life. What if there were no "last year of life," the president seems to be asking. The Eskimos used to set their elderly and sickly adrift on the ice or otherwise abandon them during times of scarcity, and that, metaphorically speaking, is what Obama would like us all to start doing.

The scarcity of resources to pay for expensive medical procedures will only increase under a plan to extend medical benefits at federal expense to the 47 million Americans who lack health insurance. So why not save billions of dollars by killing off our own unproductive oldsters and terminal patients, or -- since we aren't likely to do that outright in this, the 21st century -- why not simply ensure that they die faster by denying them costly medical care? The savings could then subsidize care for the younger and healthier.

Sound too draconian? Enter the ghost of Obama's late maternal grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, who died of cancer at age 86 two days before her grandson's election to the presidency. Dunham's health issues first surfaced in a New York Times interview with the president on May 3. There, Obama questioned the appropriateness of a hip replacement that his grandmother had undergone after falling and breaking her hip shortly after being diagnosed with terminal cancer last year. The alternative to such surgery is typically excruciating pain and opiate dependency. Obama made it clear that he loved his granny and would have paid for the surgery out of his own pocket if he had to, but he said there ought to be a "conversation" over whether "sort of in the aggregate, society making those decisions to give my grandmother, or everybody else's aging grandparents or parents, a hip replacement when they're terminally ill is a sustainable model." Obama suggested that such decisions be made not by patients or their relatives but by a "group" of "doctors, scientists, ethicists" who are not part of "normal political channels."

The White House Council of Economic Advisers issued a report in June explaining the Obama administration's goal of reducing projected health spending by 30% over the next two decades. That reduction would be achieved by eliminating "high cost, low-value treatments," by "implementing a set of performance measures that all providers would adopt," and by "directly targeting individual providers . . . This will be my last post on this thread. Apparently Bohemian and some others don't like the fact that I think for myself and don't think exactly the way they do when it comes to politics, saying that my comments besmirch the character of their beloved Sarah Palin, while completely ignoring those Sfc Stu who besmirch Obama by saying things like "he has never had a real job" (for those of you who seem to have forgotten, he was a professor at the law school at University of Chicago while he served in the Illinois Senate; I'm not saying this to show approval for anything he's said or done, but I just want the truth to prevail, that's all).

Bohemian seems to think that if what I say or feel conflicts with what he says or feels, then I must somehow be alligned with those wacko socialists who support Obama and his ilk. That couldn't be further from the truth. Just because someone is pro 2A (which Palin undoubtedly is) and anti abortion (which Palin also is) and is the antithesis of Obama on just about everything near and dear to me doesn't mean that I should automatically support her, especially if I have reason to believe that she's not smart enough to govern effectively, which I don't believe she is. Because I dare to think for myself, he somehow thinks that I'm a forum-infiltrating left wing radical, which is NOT true. I'm here for the same reason else here is, and that's to promote the Second Amendment. She has enjoyed a popularity rating that should be the envy of any politician in the country, and . . . while admittedly an arch Conservative . . . espouses very coherent and critical thought processes in that vein! Where do you feel she's dropped the ball, intellectually? (You said this was your last post on this thread, so of you don't respond, that's fine. I'll catch you elsewhere.)

I think she is at least as smart, actually smarter than The commander in cheat we had that came from Arkansas, 10 times smarter than Al, I invented the internet, Gore and the current Marxist we have in office. As far as I am concerned trashing the constitution as these other left of Joseph Stalin politicians have done is not smart. Neither is supporting the murder of unborn babies. Is Palin the best possible choice out there to run the country? Perhaps not but she sure is a long way from the worst. I think we have that right now.
