"You will face ONE YEAR in prison for resisting
ObamaCare. It's part of the massive lies and
distortions designed to hide the real dangers of
ObamaCare. Please see below." --Steve
Fellow Supporter Of The constitution,
Yesterday, the Senate Finance Committee staged two votes on
adding the "public option" to the Baucus version of ObamaCare.
I say "staged" because Senate Democrats fully expected both
amendments to fail. That was their plan. They want YOU to
think that the Senate version of ObamaCare will not include
a "public option" and therefore it's not really a government-run
system.
That's simply a lie--In fact, it couldn't be further from the truth!
The REAL truth is, ObamaCare with or without the public option
is still a massively oppressive and unconstitutional government
takeover of our healthcare system, and as citizens we cannot
support it!
But my Fellow Supporter Of The constitution, it gets worse.
Senate Democrats plan to sneak the public option back in to the
final ObamaCare bill when it moves to the Senate floor... when
there will be little time for real debate... and no scrutiny
of a Committee hearing!
So the votes yesterday were an intentional distortion to get
you and I off track -- to make us think that ObamaCare is
moving to the middle and becoming a bi-partisan bill.
But it gets worse...
This is because as bad as the "public option" is, it isn't even
the most insidious DANGER of ObamaCare.
And what is the most insidious DANGER of the entire ObamaCare
scheme? The unprecedented and unconstitutional INDIVIDUAL
MANDATE. Here's why...
+ + The Individual Mandate is UNPRECEDENTED...
According to the Congressional Budget Office:
"A mandate requiring all individuals to purchase
health insurance would be an unprecedented form of
federal action. The government has never required
people to buy any good or service as a condition
of lawful residence in the United States."
Never before in U.S. History has such a federal mandate been
imposed on the people of the United States!
Why? Because the individual mandate is unconstitutional.
Let me say that again...
THE INDIVIDUAL MANDATE IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL!
If the individual mandate is considered a "regulation" then it
most certainly is unconstitutional.
Most of the expansion (ABUSE, USURPATION) of federal power of the past 90 years has
taken place through the Commerce clause of the Constitution. In
other words, if some activity impacts "commerce," Congress
claims authority to regulate.
But there is no "commerce" involved in "being" an American!
As the CBO so clearly stated, such a mandate on "lawful
residence" is unprecedented. That's because it is clearly
unconstitutional!
And here's where Obama and the Democrats run into trouble
because the only way they can justify ObamaCare is to call
it a tax instead of a regulation and then claim Congressional
authority to tax.
But scholars are saying that this type of tax is likely also
unconstitutional. Plus, Obama said he "rejects the notion" that
the individual mandate is a tax, fearing his plan will lose
more support if it is exposed as a tax increase.
Finally...
+ + The Individual Mandate IS Government Takeover
With or without the so-called "public option", the Individual
Mandate means ObamaCare is a government takeover of healthcare.
That's because the individual mandate gives government control
over the healthcare system by giving the government the
authority to FORCE you to comply!
In fact, if you don't pay the Individual Mandate TAX, you'll
face up to a $25,000 fine or even ONE YEAR IN JAIL!
There is no escaping the government-run ObamaCare system. This
is the definition of a government takeover of healthcare!
Here's what CATO Institute says about the Individual Mandate:
"Simply making health insurance compulsory gives
government as much control over healthcare as
would a compulsory government program."
So...
We've been lied to...
The truth has been distorted...
And the real dangers of ObamaCare (the public option and the
individual mandate) are alive and well.
If you're not angry, you might want to check your pulse!
I, for one, am outraged.
And I'm not going to allow the Left to get away with their lies
and distortions!
The Senate Finance Committee is still voting. More key votes are
just ahead.

Another anti-Obama contribution by the clueless one.
Evidently he doesn't recognize the fact that Congress is primarily responsible for any possible healthcare legislation.
But hey, why pass up another chance to smear his favorite President?![]()
I agree with bohemian here, Obamacare is not about taking care of people's health (which is not the government's responsibility in the first place), it is about a massive, intrusive take-over of personal freedom and basically enslavement of the U.S. population. I copied this and emailed it to folks on my email list. I urge you all to do the same. The same Obama who lets perverts "take care" of U.S. schoolchildren absolutely cannot be trusted with anything!

I'm not aware of anything the government ever got involved with that ended up being more efficient or cheaper. But OTOH, something (I don't know what) has to be done to get healthcare costs under control. It's just ridiculous. I think the healthcare industry in general has turned into one big profit making scam with everyone from the doctors to the HMOs to the pharmaceutical makers and everyone in between in collusion to raise prices to the aboslutely unreasonably highest levels the market will bear - to the detrimet of society.
Crikey! We may have a meeting of the minds, here. Yeah, I agree with C&L, something needs to be done. I don't know, either, but maybe we could start with the obvious: tort reform, be able to purchase insurance across state lines, for starters. And I also agree with Bohemian with his intense dislike of B. Hussein. I think the man is a skunk (Hussein, not Bohemian), who is not to be trusted. And yeah, Congress does the legislating but the Pres sure can and does play a role. Oh and did I mention that I think Congress is populated with skunks, also?
Ding ding ding! We have a winner! Check out this Snopes review on the 545 people:
snopes.com: Charley Reese - 545 People
Well, the Snopes review was certainly interesting. It's the kind of thing that I guess we know, but don't stop to think about. I'm telling ya, C&L, I'm beside myself with frustration with this cast of characters and have been for a LONG time. Some folks, I'm sure who are as frustrated as I am, seem to handle it better with humor and whatnot. (Think Mark Twain: "Suppose you were a crook, and suppose you were in Congress, but then I repeat myself".) And maybe you can, too, I don't know. Me, I'm running flaming-red mad (but don't worry, I'll only shoot in life/death situation!; couldn't resist...). These skunks are interested only in feathering their own nests. Public servants, my ass. Glenn Beck (Oh boy, I bet I catch it for posting that name) makes a very similar point, basically, in his book Common Sense, in an early section which I just read last nite. Now, if I could only read this stuff without my blood pressure going thru the roof...
Senator Baucus Thinks You're Too Dumb to Understand Legislation
-- Don't let your two U.S. Senators go along with his arrogance

It didn't seem like such an unreasonable request. Before the Senate Finance Committee passes one of the most important pieces of legislation in our lifetime, we (the American people) wanted to see two things:
* First, the actual language of the latest anti-gun ObamaCare bill.
* Second, a definitive Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reading of the cost of the legislation, based on its specific language.
But, incredibly, this simple request is too much for Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, who intends to force the committee to vote on the bill with nothing but a "quickie guesstimate" of the cost -- a "guesstimate" which CBO will have to reach WITHOUT EVEN HAVING ACCESS TO THE ACTUAL LEGISLATION.
That's right. The committee has virtually finished consideration of the health care bill -- the most important in our lifetime -- AND THERE IS STILL NO LEGISLATIVE LANGUAGE.
Shouldn't we at least have a cost estimate that is based on what is actually in the bill? Yes, but a full CBO cost estimate would take two weeks -- and this is inconsistent with efforts by liberal Democrats to cram this bill quickly down the throats of the American people.
Moreover, don't you realize that "legislative language is very complex" and the American people are just too stupid to understand it.
Well, are the members of the committee too stupid as well? And what about the CBO? Is it too stupid?
A Third World country would be embarrassed by the sleaze, corruption, and fraud being used to pass the most expansive government intrusion into health care of our lifetime.
It's time to put an end to these disgusting tricks.
ACTION: Call your two U.S. Senators. Ask them to oppose any ObamaCare legislation -- at least until we have two things:
1. The actual legislative language.
2. A definitive Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reading of the cost of the legislation, based on what's in the bill.
You can call your two Senators toll-free at 1-877-762-8762.
You can also use the Gun Owners Legislative Action Center at http://www.gunowners.org/activism.htm to send your senators the pre-written e-mail message below.
----- Pre-written letter -----
Dear Senator:
I would urge you, in the strongest terms, to resist considering any health care bill from the Senate Finance Committee until we have at least two things:
* First, the actual legislative language.
* Second, a definitive Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimate of the cost of the legislation, based on legislative language.
It has been reported that, incredibly, this simple request is too much for Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, who intends to force the committee to vote on the bill with nothing but a "quickie guesstimate" of the cost -- a "guesstimate" which CBO will have to reach WITHOUT EVEN HAVING ACCESS TO THE ACTUAL LEGISLATION.
It is unfathomable to me that the committee has virtually finished consideration of the health care bill -- the most important in our lifetime -- AND THERE IS STILL NO LEGISLATIVE LANGUAGE.
Contrary to Senator Baucus' assumptions, the American people are not too stupid to understand legislation which will affect whether they live or die.
Neither are the members of the committee nor the CBO.
A Third World country would be embarrassed by the sleaze, corruption, and fraud being used to pass the most expansive government intrusion into health care of our lifetime.
Please vote against the legislation under these circumstances.
Sincerely,
yournamehere
