I smell another ammo shortage as the people in Cali stock up on ammo before the bill becomes active.

They have until January to stock up.
    Ammo-restrictions bill signed into law - 10/15/09 - Los Angeles-Southern California-LA Breaking News, Weather, Traffic, Sports - abc7.com

Next will be the Firearms Owners ID card like Illinois.

Then additional administrative fees to cover the cost of licensing, tracking, and management.

Maybe for convenience, money saving measures and combating counterfeiting, they'll embed chips and inject them into our arms?

As History has shown us 100% of the time... this is the road to total firearm confiscation...

Where Kalifornia & Massachusetts & New York lead, the rest will follow... IF we allow it to continue unchecked...

Read through the bill somewhat and caught that there will be no more Internet or mail-order sales.
Anyone purchasing more than 50 rounds per month will be considered an ammo vendor - the registration and tracking requirement.
All sales will have to be in FTF so they can collect your thumbprint, fill out ammo registration form and your validate driver's license
    - only a short surge in the ammo shortage front...But prices will skyrocket!

Does this mean no more out of state people can buy ammo in California, ie: competitions, hunting, etc.

Here is the definition of handgun ammo,

29)Defines "handgun ammunition" as ammunition principally for
use in pistols, revolvers, and other firearms capable of being
concealed upon the person, as defined, notwithstanding that
the ammunition may also be used in some rifles, but excluding
ammunition intended to be used in antique firearms.

Since the Thompson Contender is a pistol will all of it's calibers be considered handgun ammo?
Will it expand to all ammo like 5.56 and 7.62 because of the Draco or AR pistols?

Some interesting things in the Bill...

    AB 962, Page 10

"The Federal Gun Control Act of 1968 was revised in the
mid-1980's to remove the Acts requirement that Federal
Firearms License holders keep a similar record of all
ammunition sales. The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco
and Firearms (ATF) reported that keeping records of
ammunition sales proved not to be an effective law
    enforcement tool.

Article this morning says that the People's Republic of California is also going to ban sale of TVs with screens over a certain size. Doing so, says whatever Commissar is in charge of this area of life, "will create green, sustainable jobs" (somehow).
