Question Ruger Alaskan?

Anybody own one?

I have decided to carry a .44 revolver and now that winter is around the corner, I might be able to conceal
one the size of the Ruger. So, what is the consensus of opinion about the Ruger Alaskan?

Thanks!

Well, I can't speak from experience, but I am a member of the Ruger forum, and it seems it's a well liked wheelgun. I too, am looking for a .44 wheelgun for concealed carry, and this on is also at the top of my list.

I never knew that there was a Ruger Alaskan chambered in .44 magnum. I once shot a .454 Alaskan, and I gotta tell you, the recoil and resulting muzzle flip were such a bear that, even though I was definitely not limp wristing it, it damn near broke my wrist.

i just got my alaskan .454 casull and have been concealed carrying it for about a week. with the right holster its very comfortable to carry. i carry mine in a shoulder holster with some extra padding on my ribs. recoil is mild to say the least. i am a small guy (170lbs) and i hit my target from 10 yds one handed with hot .454 rounds. i would expect the .44 mag to be even easier to shoot.

Thanks for the responses. I have shorter than average fingers, so I'll need to find one to determine if it
might fit my hands. I'm keeping my eyes open!
