Default Alright, I'm in...

Benzuncle here, been with USA Carry for a while now but have been a little delinquent in jumping on the Sig forum. Sorry.

My 2 sigs: a P220 Compact - this was my first Sig. It is everything I wanted in a 45, well, other than a 100 round magazine!
The other, purchased after a lot of lurking and lurking and lurking: a Mosquito. No problemo after 1000+ rounds

What Sig do I have the hots for next: something in a 357sig caliber. I was fortunate enough to fire 100 rounds through a U.S. Sky Marshal's range Sig and it was chambered in 357sig. Man, what a round. Since then I have read about guys hitting tin cans at 80yds with this caliber. Guys that don't know each other. I've already looked into the prospects of reloading it.

My 226 is in .357 sig. True, it is a great round. Almost exactly the same power as the original .357 magnum. Expensive though. I haven't had any problems as far as accuracy goes, except with cheap ammo. Use Speer Gold Dots, you'll be fine. I actually want to change my barrel out to the .40 S&W for cheaper target shooting, but not much compares to the power of the .357 sig except the 10mm.

Thanks for that heads up 'mistro. If I DO pick up a 357sig, I'll be reloading for sure. As I have the loader already, the dies and turret wil only cost about $40. As Sig Sauer makes 4 models that can shoot 357sig, I'm lurking, trying to come to a decision. It ain't easy.

I have a P229 in 357Sig and I just got som CrimsonTrace Laser Grips for it. That is my primary carry gun. Awesome round and I have put a little less than 500 rounds thru mine and not one problem. This is my primary carry gun. I also have the 40SW barrel and another P229 in 40 SW. I love SIG. I got two P220 also.

Default I got one!

sfcfister, I found a used P239/357sig that had hardly been fired, and it has night sites! The second mag had never been out of the plastic bag. If it weren't for a couple smilies on the top o'the barrel I would have thought it was brand new. I bought another 4 used police mags from Top Gun Supply for $24 ea. Used my butt! They also had never been out o'the bag! I'm loading AA#9 @13gr. using 125gr Montana Gold Bullets and having a heckuva lotta fun. What a straight shooter, whether Weavered up or off-handed! I've got Hornady XTP's in it for SD currently. Looks nice next to my P220 Compact!

Glad to hear you got a nice deal. Do you carry regularly? I do whenever legal. I use Fist-Inc holster IWB Kydex, What do you use?

Don't overlook the new P250. I don't think it is out in 357sig yet but I have heard rumors of summer 09 for it to be available. It is very versatile and you can have 4 different calibers, in 3 sizes, compact, subcompact, and fullsize, all with the same trigger assembly. So you basically have four caliber guns that shoot with the exact same trigger pull. I just got mine in 9mm and love it. just my .02.

I carry a P220 Carry Elite; without question it is the most accurate 45 ACP that I have ever shot.

Is the .357 Mag more accurate?

Sorry for the long delay in posting responses. This thread can go a while before anyone looks in.

sfcfister: I carry the P239 in a Nemesis Pocket Holster, the same holster I carry my Taurus PT-145 in. I also carry it in a Maxpedition Jumbo Versipak and a Smart Carry. Because I live in FL and can wear cargo shorts pretty much everywhere but work and church, I haven't had the need for an IWB holster yet. But it's gonna happen. I also carry the P220 Compact in the Maxpedition. The 357Sig round is a great "car gun". Testimony has it going through stuff my 45ACP won't.

SigVol: The way I see it, even Stevie Wonder would shoot a P220 great, and that right out of the box!
It's nothin' less than a great shooter. Concerning the 357sig: I love it. It feels like the 45acp to me. It shoves and doesn't snap like a 40S&W does. Others may disagree. And I find it quick to the next shot. It has rekindled my love for a 357-type round but in a semi-auto. I am reloading and having a great time with it.
