Basically to create a one stop place for all CCW information. I know that is really general but that's kind of the idea. I looked all over for information on CCW when I first got into it so I'd like to have one spot where all that information was for other people.

I vote for family friendly. I'd love to see this site be similar to .rimfirecentral.com
Politics and bad languages are no-nos which stops many arguements before they start. Just check out their membership numbers to see how well it works.

Politics play a very large role in the 2nd Amend and think it should be allowed but one of the few things that is heavily moderated because it can and does get out of control rather quickly.

family friendly, ccw informative(luke's doing great at putting a lot of info in one place) open forums can be a place where ideas can be shared, just don't like to see bashing , after all we most likely have more in common than not.
Looks to be doing real good ...

This site fills an empty spot since Packing went away. Thanks for kick starting this one up!!:)
This seems like a nice general format from which one could link to other various sites.

Default usacarry can replace both PDO and THR if managed

All;
Most of the posts here referring to PDO apparently are coming from people who didn't know the OLD PDO. Waaaay before the rating system. Like, in the beginning. It really was a good site originally. Nuff said about it.

I'll agree with most of what BluesStringer said about how it should be, with the notable exception of his anathema to Constitutional and Second Amendment discussion. I believe they can be relevant and very important.

It looks like Luke really knows his way around WebSite management and has the proper skills and techniques to make this a technically valid site. GOOD!

Family- and female-friendly, of course. As to moderation, due to the fact that THR was started by one of the most opinionated and nitpickey mods from PDO, it's over-moderated, in my opinion. Otherwise, not a bad site.

This is shaping up to be the natural evolution of these sites and Luke seems to be young and eager and very good at what he does.

I think we'll have to wait and see its further evolution, but I have high hopes.

Not trying to argue the point, only want to clarify, but when I said that I don't come to sites like this to argue the finer points of The Constitution or the 2nd Amendment, I said it in the context of the other side of the discussion being put forward by anti-gun, anti-2nd Amendment, registration-seeking, possibly-even confiscation-supporting gun-grabbers. I don't see the point in arguing with folks like that because, by definition, they can't argue in favor of highly restricting gun ownership and be cognizant of the original intent of The Constitution or the 2nd at the same time. In my mind, anyone who tries to argue such is a fool, and as I said, I don't suffer them well.

Now, the truly finer points of the most wonderful document to ever grace humanity are anything but an anathema to me. I thrive on discussion about The Constitution, the various amendments, the Federalist Papers and any and all quotes I can find from Founders and their contemporaries. I think there is valid interpretive discussion to be had about, for instance, what the word "arms" means in the 2nd. Since I believe that I know the main reason the 2nd was ever adopted, that being for the citizenry to be the bulwark against governmental tyranny (please see signature), I am convinced that any limit on "arms" is unconstitutional, from a sling shot to a knife to a handgun or rifle or up to and including tanks and missile batteries. I've heard logical and well-reasoned arguments that interpret the word much more narrowly, and I don't mind discussing things like that with people whom I don't perceive would really like nothing more than to completely disarm me and society in general.

That's all, no anathema regarding constitutional discussions over here. Just a total lack of patience for those who so obviously don't know squat, or don't care, about why the 2nd was adopted, its importance in the survival of our way of life or the original intent of its authors.

I'm a new member to this Forum but from what I have seen in other forums, my vote leans towards keeping us (yes, I said us, the forum members) as Family and Female friendly as possible.

Its always entertaining when the Glock people and the 1911 people banter back and forth. The debates of our various points of views should be fun and light hearted yet informative.

Other sites encourage its members to push the envelope as far as possible when it comes to interpretion of the laws. That appears too radical for my tastes.

I hope that this site gives us an opportunity to exchange CCW knowledge from around the country. We have a vested interest because of our CCW status.
