New forum member, just registered, I belong to several forums including another concealed carry type forum, several firearm specific forums and general boards.

Family and female friendly is the key, keep it informative, exchange ideas (we all don't have to agree with those ideas but be willing to discuss them), answer state specific CCW concerns and I love the trader options available on other forums, I don't think I've bought 3 things off of those traders but I love to look! And I love to see what others have and show off what I have...lots of pictures of firearms, family and friends enjoying firearms and anything you other CCW members enjoy. I come here to relax, have fun, make friends and exchange opinons. If I can't do that then I'll find somewhere else to do it as I'm sure others will...:D

+1. I was just thinking the other day that I had better stay on top of my expiration now that whatever that other site was is gone.

I agree this is a great feature. PDO was entertaining due to some of the posters that any site could do without. Spirited discussion is good as long as it doesn't wander into personal attacks.

Is where I'm from and for everyone's benefit a notice of the existence of this site will be posted there and listed under PRO 2A Forums.

It's good to see another alternative to replace PDO. Good luck and welcome to the Pro 2A family.

Adding a Permit Date tracker is definitely on the list. From looking at the maps you can tell I like to make cool stuff and that would be a REALLY COOL feature!

Default Looking Forward to Growing Together

I would like to see this site become an authoritative forum for the exchange of ideas, methods and instructions regarding the use of concealed carry weapons. It is my hope that all contributors will respond to each other with the mutual respect befitting our mutual dedication to our constitutional freedoms.

Other sites have suffered greatly when members become judgmental and abusive in their communications. When someone doesn't know, we should gently guide or instruct them. When someone asks a question, do them the favor that was given to us when somebody else taught us. We are after all, members of a club with common interests.

I look forward to learning every day.

John

Thumbs up

Luke, from what I've seen so far your doing an outstanding job. Like most are saying keep it family oriented and updated. Some are comparing it to PDO and, while Packing was a great site in it's time, yours can be just as good or even better. Thanks for what I know to be hard work and time consuming.

Luke...

Just wondering what you thought of the value of having an additional "Regional" page on the States boards for the U.S., for issues that are National in scope?

Also, it seems to me that I can't possibly be the only one who's written Letters to the Editor presenting our position for whatever reason. It might be nice to have a place where those letters can be posted for the express purpose of providing others with the opportunity to gain from other's thinking...sort of a Brainstorming Central where I, inspired to write a letter, can use something someone else wrote to flesh out my point or say something in a way that I may not have thought of. The understanding there would have to be that, by posting an LTE there you were tacitly giving permission to cherry-pick from it to benefit the rest of us.

Whaddaya think?

Ed

I can add a Regional forum but I figured that is what the General Discussion would be.

As for the LTE, I'm not sure I'm following you on that on. Could be just me, its been a LONG DAY!

Default Site Suggestion

One thing I miss from the now defunct Packing.Org site is the feature they had that allowed you to list the CCW licenses you had. The great feature was if you listed the expiration date, they'd send you a reminder when it was time to renew. Since most states don't send reminders, if your license expires you could end up in hot water if you were caught carrying without a valid CCW.

Just a thought.

I think the site is great. Keep up the good work.
