Default Do You Like Or Dislike The Social Groups?

Do you have any problems with the new Social Groups feature where you have to be a member of the group to post in its forums?

We can either keep them and users can continue to create their own groups and forums on any topic you with.

Or I can delete the group features, delete all the group forums, and then we're stuck back to the open forums we had before the social groups were added. And if this happens, I won't just add forums for users that want to start new forums on different topics as that was the whole point of adding the social groups.

I've posted this in the General Forums just to get more views. I'll move it over to Site Feedback once we are done voting.

Some control (by Luke) over establishing social groups IMHO should exist, if 5 patrons wish to form a social group that has a USA Carry theme/reason to be here, go for it, 'Transexual Nazi bikers with pink poodles and flint-lock pistols' is a little left of center and I don't think would be a popular or productive social group, however I do think the many serving/or ex- LEO's of USA Carry have a need for their own group, talk story about things that us non-law enforcers only see on T.V. or watch as bystanders. My 10-cents.

I agree. I have no problem with them. If it is something I am interested in then I do not mind joining to participate. But as Canis-Lupus said there should be no weird off the wall ones.

I think that if there is a calling for it it will flourish in a free market economy
That being said...Can we start a Gun gadget addiction support group for those of us that either want or have every new accessory that can be bolted clamped or EEK welded to a gun????

Well I look at it this way. If I didn't like them I wouldn't have joined the ones I joined. Keep them the way they are now. You can't please everyone, either you accept the site as it is or not.

It seems that if you can find 5 people interested in a Gadget Addiction group, there can be one.

The last time I checked, everything on this site was voluntary. If you don't like them, don't go there. If it really bothers you for some reason just visit another site.

If you've been everywhere on the internet you should hang here:

Default Polls, and what they tell us.

Keep them. I don't mind making 2 clicks to join a group to post in it's forums. 14 ... 11%

Delete them. I can't stand having to make 2 more clicks to join a group to post in it's forums. 1 ... 1%

Do what you want. I don't care one way of the other. 107 ... 88%
    122 Views. 107 views never clicked either button.107/122= 88% don't care.

Or, maybe only 22 people had the energy after a hard day/night to be able to click a button?

I would think a better poll would be the 3 choices above: Okay/Not okay/Don't care and make it so a viewer could not read the thread without clicking one of the buttons. I don't know if it is possible to do that, would be interesting to see how many threads got viewed!

I do believe that the "Don't care" buttons would be clicked a large percentage of the time.

Lukem does a great job on this Forum and I'm sure others will agree. If it's something that interest's You then I don't see what the problem is. I know it was mentioned in another thread that it took....what, like 10 minutes to join? I myself have checked out some of the Groups but have not joined any........yet. Maybe it's because I like reading alot of things in the General section. Since I bought my AR, I may join that Group at a later date to ask questions and get info..Other than that, I say just leave it for now. Who knows, maybe down the line this site will end up getting a facelift?! Hope this was more than a one-liner.
(All the above are MY opinions/suggestions ONLY....AND, I like to bust ball's, it's called having a sense of humor. In other words, no intent to offend anyone, so get over it)

I've said this before and I say it again, Luke does an outstanding job on this site. You simply can't please everyone all the time and I think the majority are happy with things the way they are.
