New Signature Rules

I am putting some new signature rules in place to cut down on some of the large signatures. They really just cause more scrolling than is necessary. And I'll admit I was one of them. Please view the following rules and edit your signature if needed.

Now if you think something that was in your signature could be good to add as a field to our profiles post that here and I'll look into it.

1. 3 lines max - An images is equal to 1 line
2. Images no larger than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels high

Please take the time to edit your signature. After a week or so I will edit them myself as I see them.

I do concur Luke that this is your project, your board and your rules, or the hi-way. I'm offering advice as an old web-page designer, if you allow 500 x 500 pix JPG's we willco, your problems start with active scripting, JAVA applets and FLASH/SHOCKWAVE imbeds into sigs, they R way RAM intensive, not that this statement is going to make many users happy campers, but they R WYSIWYG good @ what your users/patrons can and do u/l thru your portals/firewalls. With a static JPG + text it draws lo-no-power once loaded, with active-X/direct-X the power (RAM drain on your system) required to sustain the animation, even if set 2 loop is a constant high load, and with that fancy shoot-em-up *.avi's, pearl, or Adobe ani-progs like Macromedia or Dreamweaver 1 user is pulling more power per sec all the time to maintain that 'view' of their sig than 1,000 static JPG avatars that are say 1K x 1K JPG's plain, or 100K x 100K BITMAP's, an image that is way-larger file size/higher-pixelated than JPG's ever (normally) get yet smaller/sharper in (viewing) area size.

I have also been doing web design for over 10 years. I've read this post a few times and really don't understand it. I'm not talking about scripts or java in the signatures because it isn't allowed anyway. I don't want long signatures that make the pages longer to scroll through. And also, your sig is still too long.

Thanks. Exactly, I had a few people also mention it would help when they are on the site on a phone which I do a lot as well.
