Luke,
I had posted in the WV state specific area, but you may not have time to read all of the forums so thought I'd try here. Has West Virginia dropped the residency requirement for accepting licenses? In other words, I am a Kansas resident with a Utah non-resident license. West Virginia does not accept my Kansas license and previously would not accept my Utah license as I was not a resident of the issuing state. I've heard that on July 1st, 2009, that changed and they will now accept non-resident licenses from any state that they recognize. Your mapping system still indicates that WV only honors resident permits though Handgunlaw.us has changed their system to indicate that WV has dropped the residency requirement. Since I usually point people to USACarry, I was wondering if you were aware of any change in WV laws.

That law takes effect July 10th.
Does anyone have a citation for this? Being a non-res UT permit holder wiht family in WV, I am very interested.
All I can find (FAQ'S) says
"West Virginia currently honors concealed weapon permits issued by the States of Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Florida, Ohio, and North Carolina to its residents. Currently, no other out-of-state concealed carry permits are honored. Please consult with authorities in your state in order to determine if a reciprocal agreement has been made with West Virginia."
Nevermind! I fond the info in another thread. Sorry for any confusion.![]()
