HB 3161 General Bill, By Sellers

A bill to amend section 16-23-20, as amended, code of laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to the carrying of a handgun, so as to provide that a person who has been issue a concealed weapons permit may secure his weapon under a seat in a vehicle or in any open or closed storage compartment within the vehicle's passenger compartment; and to amend section 16-23-10, as amended, relating to definitions for terms regarding handguns, so as to revise the definition of the term "luggage".

I just saw this online a couple of minutes ago.

Hopefully this will pass and lead to freedom to carry in restaurants that serve alcohol.

Looks like they just resubmitted H.3298 from a year ago that didn't even make it to committee. 2009-2010 Bill 3298: Handgun - South Carolina Legislature Online It's the same bill word for word.

This is not a new bill, but rather a rehash of a bill from the last legislative session as stated above.
