I mailed my application on October 16 and they received it on the 17th (which was a Saturday so that means nothing) so they actual receipt date is October 19.

Only around 82 days to go!

I carry concealed at home just to get used to the feeling of the IWB holster and how to adjust and wear my clothing to best conceal it. I also my loaded handgun in the center console of the car when driving. The only thing I worry about is getting so comfortable with it that I go out and forget to take it off.

You'd be surprised how often that happens. Church, alcohol-serving restaurant, daughter's school... I made it to the door one time and had to turn all the way around walk straight back to the truck and disarm. Probably should've just ignored it, but i abide by the law (unlike criminals).

I'm flying to NH today and it felt strange to leave my Glock and pocket knives locked up at home! You definitely don't want to forget you're carrying when traveling on a plane. LOL

You will get it, Mine took about 4 months just after whats his name was elected. and I got a nice appology letter from SLED for them taking so long. The important thing is, That you are in a State where you can easily get a permit.
