| Just bought an XD9 Sub-Compact at the Suncoast Gunshow. Got it used (for a bit too much I think) but it is in near perfect shape with only minor scuffing on the barrel. Came with 3 mags 1 of which is a 16 rd. Also came with pinky extenders for the 10 round mags. I am planning to use it for a ccw when (if) my FL CWP ever gets here! My idea is to carry it in a "fanny pack" type holster made by Ka-Bar. Anyone have any experience with those? Wife and I do some hiking in state pks in GA, TN, NC, SC, and VA and thought that would be a little more manageable in that situation. I really enjoy this site. Tons of very useful info here. |

| here's my XD .45 with the 4 inch barrel....I love it, I had one fail to feed but It was the Blazer Brass ammo I was using. Went out the other day with some reloads and some other various boxes of ammo I had and shot about 500 rounds without a single problem...great trigger, very good ergos, plus it's 13+1 but the handle is very slim for having a double stack mag. Easy take down....( make sure you have the recoil spring assembly in straight when you put the slide back on though) I've read a few stories where people had the slide lock due to this. Basically pay attention when you field strip it and put it back together...only complaint is the handle is a bit slippery, so I bought a hogue rubber grip sleeve w/ finger grooves an put it on. Made a huge difference. see bottom picture. [
