Default Great Holster!

I just purchased a Blackhawk Sportster Serpa holster at Cabela's Outfitters, and love it. It is polymer (Kidex?) and is attached to a paddle, which allows the wearer to adjust the angle for maximum comfort and confidence. The holster has the standard passive retention system that you adjust by turning a screw on the front of the holster, and an active retention system that has a button you press while drawing. When you grip the weapon to draw, you have a normal grip on it, with the index finger pointing toward the muzzle. This puts it right over the button and when you draw, it is properly alongside the frame. If someone attempts to take your weapon and doesn't know the secret, he will pick you up by the belt. LOL As my XD-45 has no manual safety to wipe off when drawing, the pistol is ready to perform as soon as you clear the holster. The retail price at Cabela's was $29.99, and then you add Washington's sales tax. I highly recommend this holster for comfort, safety and speed of draw.

I have a XDSC40 and have the Supertuck. My friend has a S&W 700(? not really sure) but he has the Serpa just like you. I do have to admit, unless you hit the release the gun is not coming out!! Props to them, but from what I saw, unless you wear a shirt dress, the OWB style of the serpa is going to hinder true CCW carry. For hunting or an OC state, I think it would be a great holster for everyday use.

You may want to the think about the effects of the plastic rubbing on your gun, which may cause wear.

I have a Serpa for my XD 45c, and love it. I agree with it being hard to conceal, but with the right clothing, anything is possible. But for the most part, I don't CC with it - use the Crossbreed Supertuck for that :)

It's a superb holster I agree. I got mine from Opticsplanet for $21, and fits my S&W M&P .45 like a glove. Retention feature is great.
