Cave Systems | Container And Volume Engineering System here's a US based company that sells them. I think that'd be cool. But we've wanted a shelter that could be buried for a few years now for our emergency preparedness.

Yea, cool, except for the price: About $24K for the small one, about $34K for the bigger one.

Life is expected to be only 10 years.....

If you hardened that structure with wood bracing and rebar impregnated concrete it should last considerably longer.cover that with a layer of plastic sheeting, newspapers, dirt, newspapers, another layer of sheeting and a final layer of dirt and you should be golden. Its like a wofati house but reinforced. Richsoil.com has wofati designs.

If you do all that, why bother spending on what is essentially a concrete form? Makes no sense, might as well just build a regular concrete form out of a couple hundred $$ of plywood and lumber and then call in the concrete truck.

Oh, and by the way, the $24k/$34K doesn't include shipping from Great Britain.
