Default Taurus Raging Bull

Just did a little "Horse Trading" and scored myself a Taurus Raging Bull 44 Mag 8 3/8" barrell. Seems to be a sweet little (not literally) piece. Planning on doing some deer hunting with it. Does anyone have, or know anyone with one of these. Are there any problems I should watch out for, as I know this firearm was bought brand new about six months ago? Any help would be appreciated.

Default Raging Bull

I bought one of the first Raging Bulls when they came out. Mine was in 454 Casull, the original cartridge made for it. I bought 200 rounds of factory stuff to test it with. Of those 200, only about 4 or 5 shot double action on the first try. In order to fire the round I had to fire it single action several times on each cartridge.I sent the the whole thing (gun and cartridges back to Taurus along with a detailed letter of explanation. After about 10 weeks I got my gun back along with a letter and 100 empty shells(same brand I used) that they said were all fired double and worked perfectly. For my trouble, they sent me a box of 50 new cartridges. Not one of those cartridges would fire double action on the first hit. What a bummer. I again contacted them and they said most users fire it single action, that I should do the same. That is the only Taurus I ever bought and that beautiful bright finish makes an attractive looking piece in my glass display. In an emergency it might make a nice club. Biggest piece of junk I ever bought(for a $1000).

Thanks for the info. Mine fires fine single, but did not try double. I would be highly upset if they told me to fire it single, even though thats what I do usually anyway. I hate to hear that you had a bad experience with them, as I have a PT111 and now the Raging Bull, and seem to like both just fine.
