OK Equipment to Carry Concealed in Texas

Question: What are some authorized items you can carry leaglly in Texas as a citizen w/CHL? Of course guns, knives, but what about handcuffs that might be needed to detain an intruder if not shot?

I always carry a sidearm, as well as a folding knife not sure I need cuffs.

Just make sure you are properly displaying your CCW Badge.

Now that I think of it, you can get a shoulder holster system that will carry your sidearm, two spare magazines, has a handcuff holder as well, and even a fob to put your CCW Badge on. That should be the optimal blend of being gangsta, ninja, and "tactical".

imo you carrying cuffs makes you look like a wanna be cop. i have handcuffs but they are for my security job and the job alone. i never carry them when off duty, and as far as the ccw badge goes again tryin to be a cop.
i just stick with a led light, folder knife, and my pistol. that should be enough.

That's kinda what I was getting at. We don't need no stinkin badges, and what you and another consenting adult do with handcuffs in the privacy of your hotel room does not need to be made public knowledge.

How do we keep getting back on CCW badges, "Don't Need No Stinking Badge" Don't need cuffs, not my job to hold em.

texas is a CHL, meaning that it only covers concealed handguns. you cannot even carry a pocket knife under the CHL, knives are subject to local city ordinances.

concealed handgun license. it covers handguns and handguns only (and more specifically either revolvers or semi automatics depending on which gun you qualified with). people who qualified with semi autos can carry revolvers or semis, but people who qualified with a revolver can ONLY carry a revolver.

as far as handcuffs....forget about it. since you ask i am assuming you have zero law enforcement training and dont know the proper way to handcuff a suspect. and if thats the case, you would likely get yourself killed if you ever tried to handcuff someone by yourself...im not joking when i say that. when you handcuff someone by yourself, that requires you to re-holster your weapon. you now give the other guy the opportunity to catch you off guard and take your pistol from you. theres a reason you arent taught proper handcuffing techniques in the CHL class. not to mention, citizens arrests are only lawful in certain circumstances IIRC. and you actually could find yourself in jail for armed kidnapping if you were to make an unlawful citizens arrest.

if you feel your life is endangered, you shoot...thats why you have a gun.
