The biggest difference from Utah is the Nevada prohibition on all school properties without written permission.

I haven't been able to find any information on the Clark county (Vegas area) concealable handgun registration ordinance and how it might apply to out of state CCW visitors.

Do you know if you must obtain a firearm registration card from a Nevada county still or does a Utah permit allow you to carry regardless? That sounds like some really big news for out-of-state residents to be able to carry in Nevada now with a Utah permit.

Another Nevada bill that took effect Oct 1st..

"This bill requires the amendment of ordinances or regulations adopted by local governments before June 13, 1989, that require registration of a firearm capable of being concealed to impose: (1) a period of at least 60 days of residency in the jurisdiction before registration of such a firearm is required..."

Actually, what took effect on 10-01-2007 is the ability for Clark County to voluntarily change their ordinance to reflect the change to NRS 244.364. And it appears that Clark County is not going to voluntarily change and is waiting out until the mandatory date of 01-01-2008.

LVMPD is still enforcing Clark County Code 12.04.200 & 12.04.110.

Currently, if you are caught possessing unregistered handguns in Clark County, (depending on your demeanor & the disposition of the LEO contacting you) you will either be taken to a substation, have your handguns registered & given a warning or you will be placed under arrest & have your handguns confiscated.

So, from now until 01-01-2008, visitors to Clark County still must register their handguns with LVMPD.

After 01-01-2008, non-residents of Clark County only have to register their handguns if they are staying more than 60 days in Clark County.

SB92 went into effect on 10-01-2007 but doesn't change anything until 01-01-2008.

LVMPD is still enforcing the Clark County Codes mandating handgun registration and 24 hours to do so.

So, until 01-01-2008, you still have to register your handguns with LVMPD.

After 01-01-2008, you don't have to register your handguns with LVMPD unless you are staying more than 60 days in Clark County.
