My girlfriends Father is here in VA for the weekend and wants to buy here to save money over the prices in MA, Aside from gun shows is there any restrictions on out of state residents purchasing handguns in VA. He has his Class A unrestricted permit in MA, hows that work?

The firearm has to be on the list of approved firearms published by the AG here in MA in order to bring it into MA. The transfer has to be done through an FFL. If the firearm is not approved it can't be transferred to him here in MA.
