    Default Va ccw

    I am heading to my sisters graduation on the 4th. What are the places that I cant legally CC? I have my AZ& FL permits. Am I able to carry on a private college, or is that prohibited? I was told that some cities are not CC friendly. How is that structured? All help is greatly appreciated.

    Go to either your android or iPhone app store and buy the ccp app, it is an excellent source of where and what questions you might have. Best $1.99 I've spent!

    Check your state's CCW website. That would be the most up to date info. Some apps are not updated as soon as laws change. There are a bunch of apps out there, some better than others. A great place to start but to be sure check with the state

    Check the Virginia page here for a good overview of where and where not to carry. Basically, no schools, government buildings or marked buildings. Colleges are currently no-gun zones, even though the AG and other says they shouldn't be.

    Everyone has already given the best advice possible, but based on my own experiences, and those of friends, I'll just add that the idea so common here, that "Concealed Means Concealed" is important to keep in mind. VA can be a very friendly state in legal terms, but there are many areas in which guns are not a common sight, and the reaction to them might not be hysterical, but isn't as accepting as the law...
