House Bill 1304 Support Family and Personal Protection Act
Sep 01, 2008 - 2:55 PM - by tracy.e.fulford
A group of old timers sitting in a barber shop once told me.

" Never move to Washington DC or Chicago."

I ask " why?"

I was told the most important thing I can do as a Black man, (or any man) is to protect family. So why has the Black Church and Black elected officials allowed the Democrats to do what the KKK and other hate groups couldnt do; Disarm Blacks?

For the past 15 years the old school Black Church and... [Read More]

Harris County DA wants to limit firearms in court
Aug 27, 2008 - 12:46 PM - by lukem
AUSTIN — Harris County District Attorney Ken Magidson has asked the state's top lawyer if he can legally stop his assistants from taking handguns into courtrooms despite a new law removing most restrictions on where prosecutors with gun licenses can carry their weapons.

Magidson requires members of his staff, even those with concealed handgun licenses, to obtain his permission, as a condition of employment, before they can carry a firearm into a court.

He is seeking... [Read More]

Aug 27, 2008 - 12:44 PM - by lukem
A June 8 murder of two young people in rural Waleetka has provided the excuse for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, or OSBI, to behave as if the Bill of Rights is an impediment to be overcome in order to employ effective police procedures.

In their search for the killer, the OSBI sent a letter to some 60 owners of .40-caliber handguns (the same caliber as used by the murderer) in the community where the victims had lived. The letter "invited" the owners to bring... [Read More]

Lawyers who won the historic Second Amendment gun rights case in the Supreme Court — District of Columbia v. Heller (07-290) — on Monday asked a federal judge to award them more than $3.5 million for attorneys’ fees, plus $13,215.30 for expenses and court costs. In a motion and memorandum filed with U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan, the attorneys said that they had achieved “one of the most profound and important victories available under our system of justice.”

Sheriff's solution searches for problem
Aug 27, 2008 - 11:14 AM - by lukem
As expected, new Sheriff Sandra Hutchens is sharply reducing the number of permits to carry concealed weapons (CCWs) issued in Orange County.

And the question is, why?

CCWs have always been a touchy political subject. Former Sheriff Brad Gates was criticized for jealously guarding the number of CCWs and handing them out primarily to political pals. Disgraced and indicted former Sheriff Mike Carona made relaxing the CCW rules a campaign issue – a winning campaign issue,... [Read More]
