I spent three years Fairchild (75-79), but ten of my twenty at Castle. I just like the name SkyKing, but yes it was the callsign of airbourne SAC sircraft.
Sorry for the late reply. I was in B-52s from '65 to '71 with a bunch of Arc Light stuff included. I retired in 1980 and flew for Beech Aircraft (later Raytheon) retiring in 2001. Your "Skyking" sounds familiar from my SAC Command Post days – talking on the Red Phone to "Skyking!" Those days seem somewhat distant now. I was stationed at Fairchild AFB and Barksdale AFB in the B-52 and Schilling AFB in the B-47.
